Not so long ago, the only way people thought about hearing loss was an illness. Cold clinical hospitals treated the condition and the cumbersome hearing aids of the time stigmatised users as sufferers - not ordinary people who happened to have a hearing issue. It was time for private audiological providers to offer a better option to clients, and one of those early providers was Bay Audiology. In 1993, after 10 years of building up successful private audiology clinics in Auckland, audiologists Peter and Anya Hutson decided it was time for a new challenge.
