Bedok Police Divison

Vision

'G' Division's policing strategies are guided by its vision to be a Division that emanates excellence and to be a beacon that others aspire to follow. Its officers hold closely to the four vision tenets: to be friends and confidantes of the community; to be resolute in their pursuit of justice; to constantly seek avenues to improve capabilities, as well as to be a cohesive unit, regarding the Division as one family.

Roles and Functions

In addition to its core policing duties of protecting lives and property, 'G' Division works closely with the community in a myriad of Community Safety and Security Programmes (CSSPs) and activities. 'G' Division also collaborates closely with other Home Team agencies and community partners to provide more effective and efficient services to the public. For example, in a joint effort by Bedok South NPC, Joo Chiat Civil Defence Executive Committee (CDEC), the Citizen Consultative Committee (CCC) and the SCDF 2nd Division HQ, we launched the CSSP project 'Joo Chiat Wheelers in Action to Care and Help', or in short J-WATCH, in February 2002. Under this programme, trained volunteers conduct weekly bicycle beat patrol along a stretch of East Coast Park. Since its launch, J-WATCH volunteers have been a regular feature at the East Coast Park on Sunday evenings.
