24 is one of the best TV programmes ever made with stunning real time action and edge of your seat tension that once you have started watching is very hard to cease. And now you can get the excellent 24 on Blu Ray with season 7 and season 1 due to be released very soon (the season 7 Blu Ray will be released in October in the UK).

24 is amazing but it will be even better on Blu Ray. The picture quality will be amazing as it uses the full HD 1080p format and this just has to be seen to be believed; Jack has never looked so good! And as well as the full HD picture the 24 Blu Ray also features HD sound in the format of DTS-HD and so all of the action also sounds amazing too. It all looks and sounds so realistic that you really could be there with Jack saving the day.

24 is a hugely popular TV series that follows an agent of CTU with each season following him for a 24 hour period. In each season there are 24 one hour episodes that make up the full day and each season is also real time and so there is no skipping forward, you see the action as it happens. And as the action covers a full 24 hours this means that it will go right through a night and daytime which really gives a realism to the action.

The agent in question is Jack Bauer and the show centres around him, his work colleagues and his family. Each season will generally take place on a day when there is a large terrorist threat which will see Jack and his co-workers trying to prevent disaster by which-ever means necessary. Jacks family also play quite a large role in the stories if 24 which his daughter Kim having a particular habit of getting into all kinds of trouble.

One interesting aspect of 24 is that it is not 24 hours long. It is if you watch it on the television like on Sky where there are commercial breaks but these are obviously not on the Blu Ray (or DVDs) and so this actually makes the whole season quite allot shorter than 24 hours. Each episode is around 40 minutes and so with 24 episodes in a season you get a rough length of around 16 hours which is quite allot shorter than the 24 hours you are supposed to get. This is not a problem though as you still get a huge amount of entertainment and there are also lots of extras to entertain you further. And they are also very re-watchable and so will entertain for many years.

To date there are seven seasons of 24 and so Jack has now completed a full week and saved the day an incredible seven times; the guy is clearly immortal! And they are all sure to be released on Blu ray which will mean that we can all enjoy 24 in the highest possible quality; 1080p HD with HD audio.
