Low self esteem? How should we think about this?? High self esteem? How are they different? Self-image is a assortment of messages we have taken in about ourselves over long periods of time. If the messages are predominantly sunny ones, the average
self-image we have, or more specifically, our sense of esteem for ourselves, is good.
We have a good self-image. If the messages are predominantly bad ones, the average
self-image we have, or more specifically, our sense of esteem we have for ourselves,
Self-esteem emerges out of the millions and millions of individual "introjects" (inputs we "inculcate;" that is, take in, own, as real about ourselves, etc. over the
entire span of our lives.) It starts accumulating from day one and does not cease evolving, for better or worse. If you consider the dynamics of this process, believe it or not, both low and high self-esteems are formed in the exact same way. Only the content of our minds vary, which has a crummy effect on our moods.
In the beginning, individual dealings (thoughts, experiences, messages taken in) have a massive impact on our self-esteems. That's because we are vulnerable, like most children are, and also because there are less other images in our skulls with which to average the new, incoming message. So, one or two new messages has a greater impact on the average experience we have about ourselves.
At the other end of life, we have millions of messages already in place, bouncing around inside our heads, most of them neatly catalogued in the back of our awareness. This
creates a more robust, less modifiable databank. In other words, it's harder to change
self-image in older people just by putting in new ideas, because there are already too
many old ones in place.
I've developed a technique that uses some specific "mental" cognitions to change our feelings. It turns out it's not our thoughts that change self esteem. It's our feelings.
And, feelings can be manipulated by consciously bringing up certain strategic thoughts,
thus changing the feeling (because feelings follow thoughts in adults). You control the
thoughts and you're your feelings change. Thus, you strategically apply the feelings, using the new feeling that comes in a specific way. It's a combination of two surprisingly effective techniques that work--far better than the usual superficial techniques offered in the pop-psychology literature.
It is not significant if your self-esteem has been crummy for a little while or
your whole life. You're not going to try to change the whole ball of wax, just one
thought at a time. I tell you how. It's actually a little backwards from what you might expect. You have to start small and work up, not think big and try to generate a trickle-down effect. The latter is what we find in the pop-psych literature. That fails.
It also doesn't matter if your self-esteem is very, very bad or just a little impaired.
The same technique works equally well for both conditions. But you have to understand the philosophy and techniques behind this breakthrough idea, and for that, you have to read more of what I've written.
Hello, I've been an outpatient psychologist for over twenty years. I've come
across eight psychological conditions that I see every day. Self-esteem is one of them,
and it's one that permeates all the other seven. Improve self-esteem and the others
improve, too. Below are some links to take you to my webpages, where more details are

Self Esteem Group Therapy
The average number of hair loss is up to 150 hairs per day. If it increases abnormally, then baldness occurs. In other words, when your growth phase in very slow and rest phase is very high, then baldness starts to occur. Therefore hair fall will be fast but the replacement of hair growth will be very slow.
Research shows that 60% of all men will experience some level of hair loss in their lives. You don't have to be another statistic. You can cure baldness permanently.
Frontal baldness is a type of baldness that commonly occurs in men. This type of baldness happens when the hair begins to fall out of the front of the scalp, near the forehead.
A good alternative is to use natural hair loss treatments. For example, Saw Palmetto is an herbal DHT inhibitor, which is not only cheaper than commercial drugs but also has no side effects. Currently there are natural treatments available in the market, which include Saw Palmetto as a primary ingredient.
One such natural remedy for baldness is Saw Palmetto. Saw Palmetto is a remarkable herb that keeps the prostate gland in top shape. Research has shown this herb to be a very effective baldness cure as well. What Saw Palmetto does is block the hormone dihydrotestosterone also called DHT.
You can inherit many positive attributes from your parents, like their eyes, smile, or athletic ability. However, one thing you might not be happy about inheriting is baldness. However, until a treatment is developed for permanent-pattern baldness, genetic hair loss is just that-permanent.
You may not need to undergo a quite costly procedure such as stem cell therapy for your baldness. Merely taking note of your health condition may be sufficient. Your doctor will be helpful in assessing your problem and if you will need a procedure such as laser or stem cell therapy.
Some other natural methods to treat baldness are based on massaging oils into the scalp. Olive or almond oil can be used. Usually the oil is pre-warmed by placing the container of oil in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. The hair is first wetted and then the oil is massaged into the scalp and then the hair is covered with a towel for half an hour and then the oil is showered off.
At any given time between 85-90% of all hairs are growing. The growth cycle usually lasts between 2 and 6 years. The other 10-15 % of hairs are in a resting stage that lasts for several months. The resting hairs then fall out, and the follicle begins to grow a new hair.
Each hair on human's body has its own follicle to grow from. The follicles produce cells that eventually turn to hairs. So, hairs are those dead cells that have been pushed out of follicle. It is normal to lose 50-100 hairs daily.
While there isn't a definite cure yet for baldness in general, you can find some seemingly "natural cures" for male baldness that won't cure you of baldness, but will at least help you keep it under control so that you never have to walk around with thinning hair or a bald head.
By creating products that can replace a traditional shampoo, people are more likely to use these newer hair loss products and reap the results of continued use. Hair gels and sprays as well as foams are also available, catering to every man and woman's need in a hair loss product.
Aside from illness and medications, there are natural bodily transitions, which could result to hair loss. Childbirth may cause excessive hair loss for several months in some women. During pregnancy, women often experience active hair growth and after delivery, the excess hair is shed as the body corrects itself.
We need to do is address all the misconceptions about preventing baldness. You have probably heard that you are going bald because it runs in your family, but that is only a very small reason why you might go bald. Heredity does not have much of an effect on baldness.
So how does one deal with the psychological problems one is confronted with after going bald? Because aside from how others see you there is the problem with how you now feel about yourself. With men this is a difficult time. Many feel like they've lost a part of their manhood.
