Green Smoothies Made Simple
By. Gertieterry
Even if you're an avid smoothie fan you might not have heard of green smoothies. You're definitely in for a treat if you decide to make one of these vitamin rich concoctions. You might even have the whole family finally eating those leafy green veggies.

If you're never tried a green smoothie before, you may be wondering what that is exactly. There's no definite answer here, since there are a wide variety of green smoothies. Basically, though, it's a smoothie that uses both fruits and leafy green veggies.

Most people know that eating greens is good for you. Even so, there are many people who don't find or make the time to include them in their diets. This is due to a variety of reasons; one of the most common is time restraints.

But with green smoothies, eating your greens becomes as simple as drinking something. It could not get any easier than that, and really, who doesn't have time to drink? You'll enjoy the flavor and you'll be getting a lot of excellent nutrients.

Breakfast is one of the best times to drink a green smoothie. Those minerals and vitamins will really get you moving in the morning.

You will love the focus you will get in your daily activities. You will notice a large increase in energy as well. Plus, all that fiber also helps the body to stay clean.

If you want to get going with green smoothies, but don't know exactly what to put in them, I have included some common ingredients that may help.

Examples of greens you might use include: Lettuce, Spinach, Chard, Cale

If you're already fond of these leafy ingredients, you're probably eager to get started. But if your nose is already turning up at the thought of drinking these things, don't go away yet! If you love fruit, it gets better.

You'll want to mix some fruits up with these leafy ingredients. First of all, they help disguise the leafy flavor if you don't already enjoy it. Secondly, they add another burst of nutrition to the smoothie. Fortunately, there are tons of different fruits you can try.

Here are a few favorites: Strawberries, Blueberries, Bananas and Mangoes

You can come up with all sorts of combinations that you and your entire family will enjoy. You may even want to get your kids involved in eating healthier.

Most people like smoothies because of how delicious they are, so it shouldn't be hard to persuade everyone. However, green smoothies are only as good as the recipes, so you'll want to read and compare different recipes as a starting point for developing your own.
