Green Tea and Four Possible Benefits
By. Dennis Brown
Almost everyday we seem to find out about yet another benefit of green tea. It feels like a constant stream of information is appearing about another study with yet another medical condition that green tea might possibly be able to treat. The following four are some of the most amazing areas of research being performed with green tea right now.

Preventing Cancer

Cancer prevention is one of the potential health benefits of green tea. Recent studies reflected significantly lower levels of cancer amongst Asian communities who consumed green tea. Based on this possible relationship between a regular consumption of green tea and a lower risk for cancer further research is taking place. There has been studies on humans and animals showing positive benefits with green tea.

Early findings indicate that the health benefits of green tea may defend against cancer in many of the bodys vital organs. These organs include the urinary bladder, the entire upper and lower digestive tract, and pancreas.

Green Tea Protecting Your Heart

A leading health benefit of green tea is the antioxidants found in green tea. These antioxidants have shown promise in reducing cardiac disease, controlling hypertension, and reducing levels of cholesterol. Those in the case study consumed 8 and a half ounces of green tea daily. By the end of the 25 year study participants had a reduced level of heart attacks compared to those who did not drink the green tea.

More studies show that antioxidants were beneficial in reducing the bonding of blood cells. The possibilities of this health benefit would be the reduction in clotting which could be related to heart disease and strokes.

Green Tea and Arthritis

A health benefit of green tea is the potential prevention and soothing of arthritis and its painful symptoms. Studies have shown a powerful ingredient of green tea to be its ability to perform as an agent to minimize inflammation. Certain studies suggest that the antioxidants in green tea delay the arthritic process as well as reduce the painful symptoms of those affected with arthritis.

Green Tea and Your Liver

A health benefit of green tea is the potential protection of the liver. Early research indicates a strong relationship between the antioxidants found in green tea and the function of the liver. The liver acts as a filter within the body and cleanses the body of toxins. These toxins can be from the ingredients found in alcohol, the air we breathe, food eaten, water consumed, cigarettes smoked, and so on. The health benefits of green tea suggest a stimulating and strengthening of the immune system within the body and a protection of the cells that comprise the liver.

You can imagine that with the amount of individuals painfully enduring heart problems, arthritis, liver problems, or cancer that green tea has the potential to really benefit a huge amount of people.
