Picking The Perfect Tea For You

When you're ready to journey into the wonderful world of healthy tea, you should know there are three principal types of tea at the markets: black, oolong, and green. Today, these three leading varieties of tea are joined by a fourth, which has the potential for a fullness of healthy value – white tea. The distinction between all of the tea varieties is how each one is harvested and processed. As a general rule, the less the leaf is processed, the higher the quantity of antioxidants (as with white tea).

Black Tea

Accounting for more than 75% of the tea produced in the entire world, the black type is often called pekoe or orange pekoe. Because the leaves are fermented before drying, black tea possesses the tiniest quantity of the antioxidants that can be helpful to your body. When matched to all the teas, black tea possesses the highest amount of theaflavin, which is considered to limit the threat of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Per a long-term study performed by the Netherlands National Institute of Public Health and the Environment, links were found between daily consumption of black tea and a smaller chance of having a stroke. A study in Saudi Arabia also showed a 50% reduction of developing coronary heart disease.

Oolong Tea

Because oolong tea goes through a limited fermentation, there is still a reasonable volume of antioxidants to treat and prevent a collection of medical concerns. A large level of polyphenol is associated to the consumption of oolong tea, which has an association to the deterrence and treatment of heart-related diseases. When drinking a ½ cup of oolong tea per day may arise in a reduced risk of high blood pressure (or hypertension) by almost 50%. This variety of tea also works against tooth decay and embarrassing skin conditions.

Green Tea

Green tea does not enter a conversion of fermentation, which leads to a larger amount in healthy properties than the black and oolong variety. A large amount of catechin is contained inside a cup of green tea and it is through this ingredient that you get the multitude of anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Consuming green tea may also help various patients fight infection, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol levels and a weakened immune system.

White Tea

The youngest buds and leaves are left untouched when harvesting the ingredients for white tea. Because of this the biggest quantity of antioxidants is present inside a cup of white tea. White tea has the possibility to fight against viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The white variety of tea also elevates the anti-viral and anti-bacterial resistance of many of the most used toothpastes sold today. Scientific work done on the polyphenols in white tea have found the ability to eliminate cancer causing cells.

It can be very arduous to determine the appropriate tea when they each have so many potential benefits. I would advocate that you should regularly drink the tea that you feel is most enjoyable. Tea is a drink that should be savored not just considered a medicine. I would also advocate you to pick several days each week to sample a different tea. This way you can enjoy some of the potential advantages of all the teas and you could even realize a new preferred tea.
