My family came over tonight to celebrate my birthday. My mother purchased what was supposed to be a "rum" cake for my birthday cake. It was a really good cake, but if you want a really, really good rum cake, I have just the recipe that I will with you below! I'm sure, nothing can beat it. It's one of my favorites to make around the holidays.
Just as I am feeling guilty from devouring it, I read about this sleeping disorder just like sleep walking, only it's called sleep EATING!
You got it, people stroll to their pantry and basically raid their refrigerators. Some even take things back to their beds with them...wow Now I'm not feeling so bad for myself but for them.
I'm thinking they should have a Voice Alert System-6! This is an annunciator device with wireless PIR sensors transmitters and a remote receiver/speaker base unit. Users record their own notification messages and are then notified with their own voice message when activity in a monitored area is recognized. It allows a maximum of six user voice messages.
Now not only would it be good for the sleep eating disorder individuals, but in general, it has many uses! It can let you know "Car entering up the drive", while zone two can be for a sensor monitoring the back yard- "Alert! Someone by the pool!" Perhaps a third sensor guards a side entrance against intruders. However, when this PIR detects motion, the main device plays "Being on porch" and activates a floodlight using one of four relays included on the main device. System-6 can monitor all three areas simultaneously and still have three additional zones available when needed.
It's always nice to know when someone's meandering up your driveway, knowing that your kid is still safe, and knowing that noise in the shed isn't an intruder. Last but not least, hopefully it will not have to let your significant other know you're in the kitchen! Be advised and aware...stay safe!
Yours In Safety,
Regina Jacques
Rum Cake
1 18 1/2 oz. pkg. yellow cake mix 1 3/4 oz. pkg instant vanilla pudding mix 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts 4 eggs 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 c. applesauce 1/2 c. rum
Preheat oven to 325. Grease & flour bunt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan. Pour cake ingredients after mixing over the nuts. Bake 1 hour. When cooled, I prefer to sprinkle powdered sugar on top (put powdered sugar into a strainer to make it dusty).
Icing (optional) 1/4 c. water 1/4 lb. butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. rum
Melt butter in saucepan, stir in sugar and water, boil, 5 min. stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in the rum. Poke holes in the top of the cake and pour on top.
