After having breakfast, Ms. Shanti – Public Relations Manager of ALiLA Jakarta took us on a tour de hotel. Starting at the lobby lounge, she proudly pointed to the installation of Peter Dittmar, Spaces in Between, as she explained that this is the underlying concept offered by the hotel. “ALiLA aims at providing a comfortable private space for guests between their hectic daily routines,” she said.

Owned by Franky Tjahjadikarta, ALiLA Jakarta was actually the first contemporary minimalist hotel in Jakarta . “We also take pride in the fact that ALiLA is the only hotel in Jakarta which is already a member of Design Hotels, an international organization based in Germany for hotels with unique interior concepts,” she explained, “To be a member, we have to pass all of their qualifications during site inspection.” The hotel's occupancy rate rarely goes below 85% in weekdays and their ballrooms are usually fully booked on weekends.
