  Situated in the stylish and elegant premises of Regent Hotel, its lounge must definitely live up to the aesthetical prowess of its location. The lounge exudes an air of aristocracy and inspires awe as a soft glow floods the space, illuminating the spacious area. Plop yourself gently onto their wide and comfy cushioned arm chairs and gradually leave the world behind you as the pianist dances her fingers gracefully across the keyboard, churning out an eclectic selection of soothing and alluring pieces. The delicate silverware set neatly on the table echoes elegance while its oriental wall décor radiates sophistication.

• The Food
  Available on weekdays 1pm-6pm, Regent Hotel serves the Traditional Afternoon Tea Set and Shanghai-themed Asiatique Afternoon Tea Set ($27 per adult, $17 per child). The set also comes with a freshly-brewed tea to perk you up. The Granny's Garden might catch your eye. It is brewed with a wide (and almost overwhelming) variety of flavors – hibiscus, rose hip peel, pieces of apple, pineapple, mango, papaya, sultanas, rose petals, sunflower petals and genuine bourbon vanilla. Rosy pink in color, it is visually appealing and gives off a whiff of heavenly, sweet scent. The exotic tea, however, carries a tinge of sour taste. On the other hand, the Nurbong is highly recommended. Light on the taste buds but instantly rejuvenating, this tea is brewed with a rare, delicate flower which grows in the Himalayas during springtime.

  Displayed adorably on a 3-tiered silver stand, the Traditional Afternoon Tea Set boosts a fine fare of sandwiches, scones and tarts. The Open-Faced Smoked Salmon Tea Sandwiches - a slice of smoked salmon laced neatly on top of a soft and wholesome piece of bread, is light and refreshing on the palate. This seemingly simple sandwich is surprisingly tasty, leaving one winded with pleasure. Next, nibble on their Flavored Scones served with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Preserve. Divinely soft, the scones emanate a sweet aroma, as if it was freshly baked from the ovens. Finally, indulge in some sweet temptations such as the Mini Blueberry Tart which has generous whirls of blueberry fruit filling which is simply heavenly!

  For a change, you might want to try the Shanghai-themed Afternoon Tea Set which is equally fulfilling. The Shanghainese Pan-Fried Dumpling stuffed with pork and cabbage is flavorful and delectable although a thinner outer crust would be preferred. The Old Tang Croissant filled with Prawns steals the limelight as the succulent prawns wisely complemented with the unique cocktail sauce is a combination like no other. And of course, spice up your table with a decadent treat - the Crispy Longan coated with velvety-smooth Chocolate. This dessert is bound to leave you salivating for more!

  Dressed in a humble black silk Cheongsam, expect top-notch service from the staff at Regent Hotel. Though slightly understaffed on a weekday, the service staff is exceptionally meticulous in catering to your needs. Professionally trained, they are ready to help you with any questions with regards to the menu.

Spoilt for choice, Regent's Afternoon Tea Sets provide you with a large variety of scrumptious bites. Its convenient location also gives you an ideal opportunity to pop by on your shopping trips and enjoy some delicate pastries. Perhaps, it would have been a more rewarding experience if the pastries came slightly warm. Nevertheless, Regent promises a generous spread of savory treats for the afternoon!
