About the restaurant:
Environment - pleasant, comfortable, beautifully done up, especially for the third storey where there are comfy cushions and low tables.
Service - the staff might be polite and smiley but it hardly does anything to cover up for the horrendous wait for your food. What is worse, after 20min of waiting, the waiter appears to tell us that two of the items we'd ordered were not available). 20min later, we ask for the food, and they tell us that it's all coming really soon, 'everything is already ready'. It seems like there must be a really tedious walk from the kitchen to the table, because it took another 20min before the food finally arrived. by then, we almost wanted to just pay up for the drinks and leave!
Food quality wise, the lamb shank tasted like rubber, and felt like it too, it was too dry and bland. The pita bread tasted like those you could get at any convenience stall and pop into the oven to heat up.
Ordered Food:
Yemeni fried pastries stuffed with beef.
Roasted lamb shank
Palestinian food served traditionally at weddings (has mutton chunks with yoghurt gravy on a bed of rice and bread)
Qwaha (arabian coffee)
Bread basket
My verdict:
My verdict?
Not bad for large gatherings and drinks, but if you're there for the food, forget it!
