Ipod Touch: Wide Screen Media Player From Apple

By: Jack Daniel

The Apple iPod Touch is a wide screen media player from Apple. The Touch has a multi-touch screen interface that allows the users a more convenient input without the help of any stylus, thus giving them more control over the device. A graceful swoop of your finger will drag a Web page surface around its screen or spin a 3D dial for you to adjust a timer. The users can navigate Web pages, zoom-in on images or enter text into the device just with the slide of a finger or two over its touch-screen.

The iPod has a super-thin but sturdy design with simple colour layouts. It has a very slick interface which is easy to figure out once you get the finger motions worked out. The Apple's Safari web browser lets the users play around its new interface since it relies entirely on finger movements. The device stores the files on flash memory, thus allowing for a faster access.

The iPod is Wi-Fi enabled that allows the users to wirelessly browse the Web and download songs. The device has 128 MB of RAM with a storage capacity of 8 GB. It has a non-removable Lithium Ion battery (5 hrs. video, 22 hours music playback). It weighs 120 gm and measures 110 mm x 62 mm x 8 mm. The device has a solid glass surface which is resistant to scratches.

The programs load fully into the device even before you lift your finger after pressing a button on it. The iPod is loaded with applications like Safari, YouTube, iTunes, Videos and Calendar. Its YouTube application allows you access to most of the popular and featured videos and provides for you to search for other videos as well. All its applications load smoothly without any hiccup. The rear of the device is covered with polished stainless steel that provides it a solid feel besides giving protection to its internal components against accidental drops.
