Bounty Club
by: Galuh Wulandarie

I have been to the Bounty Club five times, and it was always at the prodding of my friends. The club is just steps away from Apache Bar and Paddy's along the Legian Street ; it definitely has a different atmosphere.

Bounty Club was conceptualized to become a one-stop entertainment destination; it has an open-air stage for live performances and events such as beer-drinking and singing competitions. If you feel like singing, don't hesitate and walk up to the stage, pick a song, and impress the audience with your vocal prowess. Feeling thirsty? An outdoor bar is available and ready to serve all kind of drinks and cocktails. The club also has a billiard section with more than 8 pool tables.

Walk down a couple of meters and step into the ship-inspired club. The upper ”deck” vibrates with hip hop tracks while the lower level pumps it up with house music. Locals can enter free before midnight; first drink entry applies afterwards. Expats, on the other hand, are free regardless of the hour.

Come in your best casual clothes and dance to your heart's content on the deck. Take a swig from your bottle of arak . The Bounty Club staff are dressed in sailor uniforms for a more nautical touch. The place is quite hot and needs a bit of a clean-up; don't be surprised to find liquor bottles scattered on the floor. If you're feeling quite uninhibited, dare to dance inside the large red cage (If you do dance in the cage, make sure to have your photo taken; the moment might never happen again). You can let yourself go and show your wild side.

Fistfights between inebriated patrons are not uncommon. Thankfully, the club's security personnel are able and ready to settle the commotion. As for the lower level, this section is nearly empty. Everyone prefers to walk up to the deck area and dance the night away.

Essentially, if you have a low tolerance for rowdiness and are more comfortable among sophisticated clubbers, then this club is definitely not an option. However, if you feel like partying like there's no tomorrow, then sail off on the Bounty Club!
