Amaré Lounge opened in 2004 is one of the hottest hang outs in town these days and hosts popular events on a regular basis. It is an exclusive Club for the executive class, a meeting ground for jet set and ‘not yets'. SD dressed up and powdered their nozy nose to check out what the stir is all about.

• The Vibe
  Be sure to put your high brow on, because this place spells prestige all over. The club is divided into different sections, where comfy seating arrangments all have their own price ticket. You can reserve your favorite table by phone, after which it becomes your personal private retreat for the night with a minimum drinks order that ranges from Rp.1,000,000 for the balcony area facing Jalan Sumatera, to Rp.2,500,000 for the outside chill out lounge.
  The interior is dark and classy, with a streamlined décor that will appease slick chicks and glossy Glenns. The oval bar in the middle forms the center point of attention and the location to get club-concoctions fresh from the shaker.
  The lounge area is a dim lit open air terrace, adorned with stupa's and red buddhas to create inner peace.

• The drinks
  As you might expect in an establishment of this class, cocktails are part and parcel of the menu. If you aim is to get your head spinning like a whirlwind ‘The Red Orgy' (Rp.95,000) might do the trick. It's catchphrase: ‘Get wild…get dirty…and get wet' is a likely outcome of this mix of vodka, bacardi, tequila, dry gin and brandy. For the ladies the ‘Original Sin' (Rp.75,000) is a sweeter blend of Kahlua, Baileys and Chocolate that as a ‘guilty pleasure' has so much calories that it is bound to ‘screw your diet'. The ‘Lychee Martini' (Rp.55,000) is a smoother and less alcoholic drink made of Martini, Vodka, dry gin and lychee.

• The Crowd
  The clientele of Amaré generally is of the more mature age group. The different nights attract different crowds, Wednesday night is ladies night, and Thursday night is students night, offering free entrance for the target groups. The many events that take place include international DJ's and models, providing eye and ear candy. Musicwise Tuesdays and Wednesdays are prone to R&B tunes, while Thursdays to Saturday feature the in Bandung very popular electro and progressive hardhouse.

Class and prestige come at a price though, so bring your creditcard and indulge yourself in one of Bandung 's most supreme places to be.
