The Ardjuna Club is a night life destination located in the Ardjuna hotel at Jalan Ciumbuleuit. It has a nightclub, an executive music lounge and no less than 17 private karaoke rooms. The clientele is very much high brow so SD decided to dress up and intermingle with the crème de la crème of Bandung 's jetset.
- The Vibe
This place spells modern minimalism all over. The nightclub that goes by the name of The Private Room, is furnished in black marble, with an elevated DJ booth, a central bar and several VIP seating areas. The pounding bass lines of resident DJ Chris Lee gets a lot of heads shaking, but strangely there is no designated dance floor, so parties end up on top of the bar instead. The Karaoke rooms are very luxurious, furnished with couches that you don't want to get out of again, and fully equipped with wide screen TV. Because the Karaoke rooms are very popular, you might end up having to wait in the Ardjuna Executive lounge. Not really that much of a punishment either, since this lounge is furnished in the same fashion as the rest of the hotel: slick and classy.
- The Crowd
The Ardjuna clearly attracts the higher echelons of the market. Most of the customers are entrepreneurial hot shots and business people such as bankers, lawyers and government officials. This is also reflected in the prices, which by the way are above average. Luckily, the Ardjuna LC's (lady companions), will make you forget about all those trivial things, as they keep you company in the karaoke room. This is the place to meet the jetset of Bandung and several events such as banker's night and bachelor's night will surely spur a lot of handshakes and business cards changing hands.
- The Drinks
The signature cocktail is called AJ152, named after the address of the Ardjuna. It is a mix of Cointreau, vodka and lime juice. The result, a fresh and fruity taste that will certainly get the party spirit up. Another favourite is ‘Illusion', a concoction of vodka, gin, tequila, Bluemoon and kiwi juice (Rp. 400,000 pitcher). Fruity and deceivingly easy to gulp away. The alcoholic components do their job silently, so somehow it's not that surprising that many guests end up dancing on the tables.
SD's personal take on The Ardjuna Club The ambience in this club can be described as exclusive and high class. Décor is glossy and slick. Only let downs are the lack of a place to talk quietly and a dance floor. But the Ardjuna wouldn't be the Ardjuna if they weren't already working on that. New VIP rooms and dance floor will be opened this year.
