With so much space to spare, it comes as no surprise that the Palace Of The Golden Horses has a multitude of activities to choose from, both on and off the hotel grounds. All facilities within the hotel are available to cater to several individuals and groups. Guests who would prefer visiting the city area have the convenience of using the free shuttle service to KLCC and Bintang Walk.
Upon the first look, the swimming pool seems slightly small for a hotel of such magnitude. It's a leisure pool that probably wouldn't be enticing for those looking for an Olympic challenge. The two slides at the side are the best distractions for children, while inviting the more matured to get in touch with their inner child. Alternatively, those who just want to lounge by the pool and soak up the sun can lay on any of the available deck chairs that are provided. The gym is also a modest one but it's fully equipped with new training equipment and a full weight training area. Pump those muscles and run those treadmills while overlooking the beautiful landscape which includes a waterfall and a whole lot of greens.
A stroll around the compound will introduce you to its meticulously manicured landscape. Follow the footpaths in the gardens and you'll be taken through an adventure filled with waterfalls, palm trees, carpet grass and other greeneries. The hotel's outdoor lounge areas are the perfect spots to take in the environment and the fresh air there. These areas are strategically placed throughout the hotel and it's almost as if it's been placed there for guests to stop, admire and just breath it all in. It's refreshing to see a hotel take so much pride in its landscaping and its architecture.
There are many dining options within the hotel itself. The Carousel is a 24-hour coffeehouse that exudes an aura unlike many that we've encountered. Its décor resembles that of a funfair complete with horses from a carousel. The bright colours of green and yellow, together with pink napkins, will transport guests into an ‘Alice In Wonderland' fantasy. The Seahorse Café caters to guests beside the swimming pool and gym area with light snacks such as hot dogs and French fries. For more extravagant dining, there's an option of Kim Ma Chinese restaurant, Cavallini's Italian restaurant and Kin No Uma Japanese restaurant.
Alternatively, the Mines Shopping Fair is a mere 5 minute drive away. Those who prefer a more scenic route can opt to travel by water taxi. You'll be able to see the golf course, the buildings that surrounds Mines Resort City as well as many hilltop mansions that line the golf course. As with all lakes in the Klang Valley , the water isn't crystal clear so try not to fall in as you wouldn't be able to see what lies beneath.
Service at the Palace Of The Golden Horses is impeccable. Their smiles greet you from the start of your stay all the way to the end. They are friendly and ever ready to help. Due to its size, many guests, including us, can be seen roaming around aimlessly on more than one occasion. The staff at The Palace Of The Golden Horses go an extra mile to ensure that all guests are comfortable even if it means having to carry them safely back to their doors.
SD's take on The Palace Of The Golden Horses
Although the hotel might be located away from the city, it offers many other bonuses that don't come with the city such as fresh air, a lake side view, a beautiful landscape filled with nature's best and many more. The service is definitely top notch. Their smiles will stay with you long after you've checked out. Kudos to the concierge desk for a job well done as well. If you're looking for directions, the concierge will spare no details as they are well-trained at giving directions. The rooms are spacious enough to do somersaults in and the grounds is just spectacular. This is definitely one of the most spellbinding hotels in Kuala Lumpur .
