When you arrive in Malaysia, there are a few important bits of information that you should always keep with you. The most important would probably be the number to call in case of an emergency. Next would be the number of your embassy. Other than that, you probably wouldn’t need anything else but SD has realized that there are those numbers that you might want to have on you just in case you run into something unexpected.
It is always important to know what to do in case of an emergency. In Malaysia, the infamous 911 number doesn’t apply. For police and medical assistance, the number to dial is 999. In case of a fire, the fire department can be reached at 994. If you have a mobile phone on you, just dial 112 and you will be connected straight to an emergency hotline.
You probably won’t need to contact your embassy in Malaysia but there are unexpected cases of stolen or lost passports that might require you to contact your embassy. Other instances where you might need to keep in touch with them would be for enquiries on visa and entry requirements. Here’s a list of numbers to the necessary embassies.

In addition to the information above, it is also wise to keep you the contact numbers of your banks with you. If your credit card were to be stolen, you’d have the numbers on you to make a report for the stolen card. Similarly, if you have ATM cards and other bank cards missing, you should always report it immediately and it could be frustrating if you don’t have the phone numbers with you.
Armed with all those numbers, you will probably feel a little at ease when travelling around Malaysia. It might not seem like much but in some cases, having these numbers with you could prove to be a life saver.
