The Attic: Creative, Cool, Chic
by: Sophia

The Attic prides itself with its drinks menu and it’s no wonder why. The menu boasts a wide variety of the more generic items such as beer, wine and liquors but it is their cocktails that strike the eye. It isn’t easy to find an establishment that prides themselves in the quality and originality of their cocktails. The Attic makes sure that each creation does not only excel in quality, but also in quantity.

The atmosphere at Attic is cosy, chic and creative. Using an all white room as its canvas, it fills up its walls with works of arts by aspiring local artists. A nice and cosy bar sits in the centre of the space with comfortable seating areas surrounding it. Guests can opt for the low black sofas and cushion seats, the tall stools at the bar or the regular tables, which ever tickles their fancy.

The choices don’t end there. Flip through the drinks menu and you will be slammed with more options. If you’re the adventurous (and alcoholic) type, this place would be heaven. The Attic features a wide variety of original cocktails with even more creative names. Amongst some of the outstanding cocktails are In Bed With KC, Moonflower and Llew’s Mojo.

In Bed With KC is made out of lychee and orange liqueur, Tabasco and cranberry juice. It is served in a martini glass and looks and tastes somewhat like a cosmopolitan. The intriguing part about this drink is the Tabasco as it gives the cocktail an after taste that has a strong kick.

Moonflower on the other hand is made out of vodka, coconut rum, strawberry liqueur and pineapple juice. This particular cocktail is fruity and has a tropical flavour to it. It is perfect for those who prefer a fruity punch taste to their cocktails rather than the potent taste of alcohol.

Llew’s Mojo is one of the most popular drinks at The Attic and it comes as no surprise. This concoction if rum, special lime mix, mint leaves and sugar syrup is The Attic’s very own Mojito with a twist. There’s a strong lime taste to it which makes it a refreshing drink. But don’t be fooled by its innocence as a glass of Llew’s Mojo packs a double shot of rum. This drink comes highly recommended.

Other notable items on the menu include the beautifully presented DeeVine Goddess, the mild and sweet butterfly martini, the strong kick of the Vandetta and the rich and creamy La Dolce Vita (dessert in a glass). Each cocktail is beautifully presented and maintains the highest of qualities. It is potent (not watered down) and uses premium labels as its ingredients. Designed cocktails sell for RM30 each (RM24 on Saturday’s) and regular cocktails sell for RM25. In addition to all those captivating cocktails is an extensive wine list of wines from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, Europe and North America. Prices of wine bottles range from RM99 to RM250.

The Attic also features themed nights to keep its customers on their toes. Every night serves a different purpose and features live music, art and good company. At The Attic, you will not be short for choices. There are so many options to choose from and each one sounds enticing. You don’t have to be a regular alcoholic to enjoy the drinks here as there’s something for everyone. It’s a refreshing change from the loud and crowded clubs that we so often get in Kuala Lumpur nowadays. So head on down to The Attic to experience a cocktail bar with a theme.
