A year has passed and it is time again for the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival. This year, marks Malaysia’s 50th anniversary and such an event calls for more festivities. In an effort to further increase the thrills and spills of the sale season, the Mega Sale Carnival which was kicked off in mid-June will run for 11 weeks.
The 7th installment of the carnival was extended due to the overwhelming response and success of the campaign. In addition, the year 2007 marks the 50th anniversary of Malaysia as well as Visit Malaysia year. The extension of the sale period would encourage tourism during this mid year period.
Shopping is a major attraction to most visitors to Malaysia, accounting for 25.7% in overall tourism earnings in the year 2006. Not only will this campaign boost the tourism scene, it will also boost the country’s economy. Hopefully, the festivities that are in store during the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival will attract more tourists to “Visit Malaysia 2007”.
