Xbox 360: Smart Gaming Device
The new Xbox 360 video-game console from Microsoft was developed in cooperation with IBM, ATI and SiS. The Xbox Live of this console allows the players to compete online and download content such as arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, and movies. The Xbox 360 gaming console is the successor to the Xbox, and comes out competing with the contemporaries including Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. Unveiled officially on MTV on May 12, 2005, the 360 had a detailed launch and game information later that month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). It is the first console to provide a near-simultaneous launch across the three major regions. The console marked a record sales of 17.7 million units around the globe. The Xbox 360 gaming console is currently available in four different versions, the "Arcade" console, the "Core" console, the "Premium" console, and the "Elite" console, with each having its own set of included accessories and features that are really stunning.
The Xbox 360 was released in the United States ad Canada on November 22, 2005, in Europe on December 10, 2005 and in Japan in December 10, 2005. The stunning gaming device was later launched in Mexico, Columbia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The Xbox 360 gaming console is available in three standard variants, namely, the "Xbox 360 Arcade", the "Xbox 360", and the "Xbox 360 Elite". The Xbox 360 Core was an entry level Xbox 360 available at a price of US$279.99. The Core system comes bundled with composite video cables, capable of only SDTV resolutions, but newer models with lot number 0728 or greater have an HDMI 1.2 output. The Core may output HD signals up to 1080p when connected to separately sold HDMI, Component, or VGA cables. It can also utilise a separately sold 20 or 120 GB hard drive.
