About Jalan Bahar is located at the western part of Singapore , and is in close proximity to Tuas and Lim Chu Kang districts. A large portion of Jalan Bahar's land area is restricted and designated for the Singapore Armed Forces' live firing exercises and the Singapore Civil Defence' Basic Rescue Training exercises.
Primarily a wooded, forested area, the land at Jalan Bahar has been cleared over the years and is left undeveloped till today. Only a few commercial buildings stand here, mainly industrial buildings and educational institutions.
Restricted Area
Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) live firing exercises The SAF holds its live firing exercises periodically at non-residential areas namely near Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Hong Kah, Kranji, Jurong, Lentor, Lim Chu Kang, Marsiling, Mandai, Neo Tiew, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper, Simpang, Sembawang and Seletar.
Singapore Civil Defence' (SCDF) Basic Rescue Training (BRT) exercises The SCDF conducts its BRT exercises for newly-enlisted full-time Civil Defence National Servicemen (NSF) at its Basic Rescue Training Center (BRTC) here, one of the two SCDF establishments at Jalan Bahar. The other establishment is the former SCDF camp. It is no longer in service today.
Haunted Spots The northeast tip of Jalan Bahar includes part of the Choa Chu Kang cemetery, a site that is synonymous with many paranormal occurrences i.e. ghosts sightings and bizarre incidents. Brave souls can go on a ghost hunt at the following sites:

Cycling There are many bike trails here to choose from. The most popular ones are the routes towards Dragon Kilns, or at Westwood Park.
Pottery-making The Jalan Bahar Clay Studios (JBCS) is where you can go for pottery-making workshops by famed Singapore potters. For other pottery artists, there are studios that come equipped with pottery equipment i.e. electric wheels, pug mill, slab roller etc.
