About: There are nine sub-zones mainly Yishun Central, Northland, Yishun East, Yishun South, Lower Seletar Reservoir, Springleaf, Nee Soon, Khatib and Yishun West.
History: Previously known as Nee Soon which was named after Lim Nee Soon, a successful businessman with extensive rubber plantations in the area. Gambier, pepper and the pineapple plantations were also common in the here.
Residential: The Yishun area is mainly composed of public housing flats. There are few condominiums. Orchid Country Club and Lower Seletar Reservoir are located here.
