About Loyang is a small housing and industrial estate between Changi and Pasir Ris. To some, it is known as Kampong Loyang. Nobody is very sure how the name came about, since Loyang is a variation of “Luo Yang”, a city in central-eastern China that used to be one of the Middle's Kingdom's ancient capitals.
Residential There are a few small residential areas around Loyang. The closest big estate is Pasir Ris, which is just across the road from Loyang. However, there are a few condominiums in the area. There is also a unique temple called the Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple. What makes this temple different is that you can find Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist deities and a Muslim shrine, all within one compound.
Despite the abundance of industry, Loyang also offers you the chance to relax. You can stay in one of the big bungalow chalets in the compound of Aloha Loyang. As Loyang in near Changi, it is also close to the NTUC Changi Village chalets.
Industrial Loyang is a typical industrial estate – high-tech, new and big. Like Changi Business Park, Loyang 's industrial estate is owned by Jurong Town Corporation (JTC). Each business park, however, contains industries that are very different in expertise and specialization. Loyang, as it is close to Changi, also concentrates on the aviation and aerospace industry. It houses Changi International Logistics Centre, SIA Engine Test Centre and G.E. Aircraft Engine, amongst other things. Despite the prominence of the aviation industry in the area, however, Loyang offers you the space and chance to invest in enterprises that are more diverse. For example, Loyang is also the home of Walt Disney TV in Singapore.
