Somehow love the carrot cake from this stall. They do offer you different servings, ranging from $2 to $4. This plate only costs me $3, cheap yet large portions served. Their carrot cake actually smells nice, well, tastes nice too. The carrot cake is nicely fried, and the outside kinda crispy to me, yummy! Well, their chillies are spicy too, but actually tasted weird when combined with the carrot cakes.

This white version carrot cake is really those very soft and smooth type.Lots of beaten eggs are used in this dish which ensure all pieces of carrot cakes are coated with generous amount of beaten eggs on it.The chilli paste is quite spicy so do not take it if you are afraid of too spicy food.Topped with generous amount of chopped spring onions which make the carrot cakes really fragrant and tasty. However I should say the portion is not really generous although the price is not too high.Long queues can be expected during breakfast and lunch hours.
I simply love carrot cakes, I tried the carrot here and I find it is one of the best I have eaten. There offer two kinds of carrot cakes, the white ones and the black ones. I tried their black carrot cake this time. One thing I love about their carrot cake is that the pieces are very chewy. They added a lot of eggs as well. The black sauce really makes the carrot cake taste so sweet. as a whole it is really tasty and delicious!
I am so glad to have found this gem of a stall. Though the portion was quite little to me, the carrot cake tasted good enough. The crispiness of the top of the carrot cake is full of praise and the fresh spring onions make the smell very refreshing. Their chilli is not too bad too.
This has always been one of the stalls that i frequent on a regular basis for fried white carrot cake. I usually waited for the regular lady to be on duty to order. I like it with additional preserved radish added and to pan-fried it a little longer to achieve the crispy texture. The portion is getting a little lesser as compared to before. So, i always go for the $3.00 but even so, the portion is still rather little. I was there this morning to take away a packet to have it at home. It still tasted as good though not the best. Nonetheless, this is still a good choice if i am too busy to make it to my favorite one at Toa Payoh.
I like how this stall fried the carrot cake. Their carrot cake is not scatter in tiny pieces but in square block pieces with the aid of the egg added. This make it easier to consume the carrot cake with the fork. Thus, you need not have to use the fork and poke 1 piece by 1 piece of the carrot cake or have a hard time scooping the small pieces of carrot cake. The chili together with the spring onion boost the flavour of the carrot cake.
They only sell white carrot cake here, they do not sell the traditional black carrot cake which is fried with sweet black soya sauce. There is always a snaking long queue here, especially during lunch and dinner hours. Please go there early if you want to try it as they are usually closed before 7pm or earlier. This is one of the best carrot cakes that i have tried, usually my favourite are black carrot cakes as they are sweet. But the carrot cakes here is really crispy, not soggy like some others that i have tried. They are pan fried to perfection , soft on the inside and crispy on the outer.Always request for the chopped dash of spring onions to be topped as they add up a nice aroma to the whole dish. The chilli they served goes really well with the carrot cake, the chilli is abit sambal like, not the usual watery or bottled type. They may have some secret formula for it too.Prices starts from $2-$3-$4.However their portion is abit small, hence you might wish to order the $3 or $4 one, always request for More chilli, as the stallholder will alocate only a small amount if you dont request for more.

“Lim Hai Sheng Cooked Food - 林海盛熟食” which is located at Block 724, Ang Mo Kio Ave 6. I am sure those who stays around Ang Mo Kio area would have either tried or heard about this stall that is always pack with queues.

Accordingly to the stall owner, Jenny, they have being operating this stall for more than 30 years starting from her father’s generation. And they only focus on selling the "White" Fried Carrot Cake instead of black and white like some other stalls.

The texture of the carrot cake is soft and fragrant with generous amount of beaten egg and salted turnip (cai po - 菜脯) that lift up the overall taste of this simple dish. Accordingly to some of my readers who frequent this stall, they suggested that next round when I pop-by this stall again, I can actually request them to fried the Carrot Cake longer in order to achieve nore crispy outer layer. So if you prefer more crispy texture, you must send in your request while making your order.
