What would the internet be like without ebay? For those of you who haven't already joined, you will see that Ebay has it's own Ebay connects buyers and sellers from all over the country and all parts of the world. The goods that you can't purchase at your local Wal-Mart you might be able to find on Ebay.
I first became a member of Ebay in 1998. My very first purchase was in June of 1998. I probably bought a laser pointer or some other useless item. I was a member of Ebay when there were little or no transaction fees. Ebooks and web hosting auctions were non-existent. Ebay has surely changed. I can remember my first sale: April of 1999, I sold a Mark McGwire baseball card. At the time, I did not want to get rid of that card! But, I needed some extra money in my pocket and sold the card for $95. I was thrilled! (I was 21 at the time). It has been 9 years now, I have a feedback rating of 100%! Selling has not been easy. It seems tough, and sometimes impossible to compete with Ebay Powersellers placing their items in every category imaginable.
I have enjoyed my Ebay experience. But, as I have said before, it is hard to compete in this huge market. I have sold only 27 items since my Ebay membership began 9 years ago. It can be intimidating. I have made an attempt at ebook and script sales, but you have to sell so many to make any money!
Opportunity Knocks
On my money making journey I stumbled upon Ebay's affiliate program. Do you ever wonder where all of the seller fees go? Well, most of it goes to Ebay and a small percentage is paid to affiliates. It is more complicated than that, but you get the idea.
I'm not making much money with ebay with my own products, why don't I try to make money off of other people's auctions!
I visited Ebay's affiliate page and was directed to Commission Junction (CJ). CJ is Ebay's affiliate program manager and is very reputable. It was a quick and easy signup and setup. I was then ready to start. ROADBLOCK: What do I do next?
I am pretty comfortable with html and such, but had I had no idea how to place multiple Ebay items on my site. From there, I researched the Ebay Affiliate Program and stumbled across this script called Build a Niche Store, or BANS for short.
I was pretty excited about the reviews the Build a Niche Store had received. I bought the software for $97 which gave me rights to build an unlimited number of websites. (I'm working on 13 sites right now). The first and second websites that I built were indexed by Google within 24 hours! The beauty of this program is that it optimizes your web pages so that you will be seen on search engines. My first site is on the first page of Google with a very competitive keyword!
BANS will help you create a website that is geared towards any category you choose from Ebay's content. Ebay items in your category will be automatically fed into your site: Automatic Ebay content! If a person bids and wins an auction through your website, you are paid a commission. If someone signs up for Ebay through your website, you earn a commission.
If you are not completely familiar on how to make an excellent website and have it optimized for the search engines, The Build a Niche Store (BANS) program will definitely put you in the right place. Once you begin, it becomes an addiction. Build as many websites as you would like and have fun!
