Glue sticks are integral to many different products and have many different uses. This is not about those wonderful glue sticks that we all used as children. Most people will bring to mind a picture of a craft glue gun. These are used primarily for household uses and especially for crafting. How Glue Sticks Work

The basic way to understand how this item works is to see the process. The glue stick starts out in solid form. It is then pushed through the gun and heated to a specific temperature that turns the solid into liquid form. It will then cool very quickly. It is the cooling process that adheres the materials together. The bond is very strong but also flexible when it needs to be. Projects must be completed quickly because the cooling process happens very quickly. This is how this adhesive performs its duty, but it is also up to the human element to make sure that all projects and manufacturing are completed properly. There are glue guns that are aptly named as professional or industrial. These have the ability to handle those large projects such as book binding, sealing boxes, and even manufacturing of disposable diapers. There are hot glue guns that do not rely on this bonding agent to be in stick form. These are actually slugs and granules that are processed in the same way. These are great for dots and beads and intricate work. In addition to the slugs and granules, there are other special adhesives that are encased in cartridges. These are best suited for large projects. Regardless of the size or shape of these raw materials, they all work in the exact same manner as described above.

These bonding agents are small items that make a big impact. They are involved in so many different manufacturing processes and products and yet many people believe that these tools are used only f or crafting purposes. In reality, we see the work of glue guns and glue sticks everyday in our cardboard boxes, bags, envelopes, stamps, labels, cars, airplanes, kitchen countertops, and even the disposable diapers we put on our children. These easy to use tools are used on all types of materials and for many different reasons, yet their construction is always very similar. It is wonderful that such a product exists!
