Most of you lead a hectic lifestyle, one which is jam-packed with chores, errands, and last-minute shopping. With such a fast-paced life, it becomes difficult to even find time to rest or pamper yourself by visiting a day spa. This need for relaxation at home has given birth to the concept of home spa. One of the most essential requirements for a home spa is a personal massage bathtub where you can just bubble-up, steam, and soak yourself to relax in the privacy of your own home and at your own time.
The Great Private Escape
According to bathroom designers, the home spa is a few notches above the regular bathroom. The accessories used in a home spa, such as a shower, a bath tub etc are all more "evolved". For example, the bath tub in a home spa is extra long, extra deep, and comes with multiple jets or bubble. The shower has more than one shower head and additional fixtures that offer hydro-massage and cascading sensations. In all, the home spa is a great private escape that is not just luxurious but also unique and with your own individual aesthetics and artistic touches.
Imagine sinking into a warm and inviting bath in your personal massage bathtub after a particularly long, hard day's of work. Bliss! And with the jets massaging your neck, shoulders, and feet – don’t you feel like you are in heaven? Create a highly relaxing ambience by playing soft, soothing music in the background, a glass of wine in hand, and maybe a book before you settle in for a long massage bath. Life can’t get better than this my friends!
Create Your Own Private Retreat
Now, if you want your own private retreat, then you must add a home spa with a personal massage bathtub in your house. But let's just assume that you don’t want to go all out to spend money on a home spa. So what can you do to still get the similar benefits? Start by adding a personal massage bathtub to your master bathroom. But you must understand that making an addition can be a tad tricky, as you will need specialized fixtures and enough space with a beefed-up plumbing system.
Another way to make space for your personal massage bathtub can be to renovate or remodel your existing bathroom. There is an emerging trend where a wide cross-section of individuals who are opening up to the idea of creating their own private retreat; from single men and women to professional couples with lot of money to baby boomer couples to those with a jet-set lifestyle.
Well, even if you aren’t rolling in moolah, you can still enjoy some features of a home spa like we mentioned before. A greater number of manufacturers are now producing wider range of bathroom fittings that come with a competitive price tag. Perhaps that is why just about everyone is willing to invest in a home spa or at least a personal massage bathtub!
Choosing a Massage Bathtub to Soothe Your Aching Muscles
Golly, imagine the feeling of a masseur's hands gently kneading into your flesh and relieving you of the ache in your muscles. The feel of those hands whose calming powers are heaven-sent, work tirelessly to give your strained muscles a brand new life. But you know what; a masseur isn’t always required to get a massage. All you need to do is soak up in a massage bathtub and enjoy a luxurious and pampering massage.
Types of Massage Bathtubs
If you have been to a spa, you may have already experienced the benefits of bubbling water in a tub. A personal massage tub is no different. The massage tub comes fitted with jets or holes situated on the sides of the tub that propel the air or the water in the tub. There are just two types of massage bathtubs – air-jetted massage bathtubs and water-jetted massage bathtubs.
* Water-Jetted/Whirlpool Massage Bathtub
As the name suggests, water-jetted bathtubs have jets that propel the water through the opening in the sides of the tub to create a stronger massaging action that the air-jetted bathtubs. A big let down is the fact that you can’t use bubble baths, bath oils, bath salts etc in this version of the massage bathtub. Additionally, you’ll have to don your cleaning gloves to ensure that the tub is clean else the holes will get clogged.
Here’s a tip: Nowadays you can buy a whirlpool tub that comes with an inbuilt cleaning system. So keep your eyes open for these models.
* Air-Jetted Massage Bathtubs
Air-jetted bathtubs offer a gentler massaging effect than water-jets, as air is pushed and circulated by the jet system rather than water. But, with air-jetted bathtubs you can use bubble baths, bath salts, bath oils etc to make your warm soak a truly fun and relaxing experience.
Finally, base your decision to buy a personal massage bathtub and create your own home spa after careful consideration of all the bathtub options available. Don’t be impulsive and consider your budget and requirement. Also ensure that you do some research before investing in a bathtub whether you buy it in a store or online from a website.
So enjoy your new bathing experience and the joy of stepping into your very own home spa with a personal massage bathtub! Hurrah!
At Home Spa Recipes
Being fortunate enough to make regular visits to health spas, massage spas and beauty spas is wonderful, but not everyone is so lucky! Lets face facts - health spas are very pricey for either a holiday or a day visit and for most people, it is a once in a life-time experience. The great news is that there are ways you can create the same experience in the privacy of your own home.
From a few thousand dollars and up you can purchase a spa to install in your own home. These are fantastic as either indoor or outdoor units and combined with a few extra tips and tricks, can definitely give you the benefits of a health spa holiday. They are fairly easy to clean, don't cost too much to run and once you have installed them, there is no more to pay and you can use it anytime.
If installing a home spa is not an option for you because of space or finances, there is a revolutionary invention that will resolve these issues. It is a portable home health spa device that you can use in your very own bathtub! You can move it from one tub to another, so everyone in the family can use it and you can easily take it with you when you move. The jets are relaxing, rejuvenating and can have your tub bubbling in a minute or two. There are even heat settings to keep the water warm while you enjoy the tub for a lengthy time. These portable home spas are a fraction of the price of a permanent fixture or long term spa visits.
Whichever option you choose, there are a few things you will need to do to prepare for your home health and beauty spa pampering. First, choose your products: You will want a scrub for your face and body, a cleansing mask, several clean, dry towels, shampoo and a hair treatment, a loofah or body brush, nail scrubber, facecloths, floor mats, bath oils or salts and plenty of our favorite moisturizers. When you have all of these things ready, do the following:
oPut on a robe or wrap a large towel around yourself and a smaller one around your hair.
oWet your face with lukewarm water and wipe it over with a facecloth.
Begin with a small amount of facial scrub to determine how much you will need to cover your face, neck and collarbones.
oGently exfoliate your skin in these areas in a circular motion - first in one direction, then the other. Do this for three minutes or less if the skin begins to feel sensitive.
oWipe the scrub product gently from your face with a warm, wet facecloth. Rinse and repeat wiping until your skin feels clean.
oNext, apply a liberal layer of face mask to your face, neck and collarbone area and leave it to draw any toxins from your skin and add nutrients.
oUse a clean, damp facecloth to wipe over your whole body with the purpose of dampening your skin (Avoiding areas with mask on them). You want to keep the cloth full of fresh warm water so it opens your pores up ready to clean.
oNow apply the body scrub in circular motions concentrating on one limb at a time. By the time you have finished your feet, your face mask should be ready to remove and you can hop in the shower. Give your body a good all over rinse in the shower and wash your hair.
oHop out of the shower and dry your body and lightly dry your hair. Apply a liberal amount of your chosen hair treatment and wrap a towel around your head. You are now ready to hop in your home spa!
Add the recommended amount of your bath oil or salts to the water, get your towels ready for when you get out and you're ready to go for it!
You might want to have some soft, slow music on to deepen the meditation. Relax in your health and beauty spa until your fingers begin to go a bit wrinkly from the water. Then hop out, dry yourself off and jump in the shower to quickly rinse your hair and body.
Apply moisturizer to your skin all over your face and body, put on comfy clothes and slippers and take some time to read a good book or do an outdoor meditation. What a luxurious time you have just had in your own home spa!
Although having a spa resort holiday is an amazing experience, with a home spa, you can use it regularly to get the most out of it. Once you have it set up, the only money you have to spend is on a few beauty products and you can crawl straight into your own bed if you like, completely relaxed, afterwards.
