There are basic guidelines for everything that you do. If you are learning car driving, the instructor will tell you to always put on your seat belt, never turn without proper signals. There is a similar set of do's and do not's for exercising and muscle building. One should abide by those rules and the actions taken should be appropriate. Also, these four rules don't apply just for bodybuilding or muscle building. They apply for any kind of exercising. For example, you might be starting upon your weight loss routine, or starting exercising to reduce your stress levels (yes, exercising helps you reduce your stress). Exercising for muscle building is just one part of the entire process. We won't take much time, here are simple rules for with the basic guidelines that we expect to be followed and remembered. A brief description is also provided along.



#1) Vist your doctor before you start: Yes, this is very very important. Before you pack your bags for gym, take an appointment with your doctor and discuss it out with him. Clearly tell him of your goals and go for a checkup so that he can tell you if there is any issue. E.g. you might be planning on to start swimming but your skin may be allergic to chlorine. Let your doctor decide on it and advice you accordingly. It is much better than going to him later.

#2) Do what you enjoy: Exercising does not implies that you make it a part of your work routine. Their should not be any feeling of monotonic routine associated with it. Exercising should be fun. Take part in things that you enjoy, so if you like swimming more, than go for swimming. Do it regularly as a part of your fitness schedule. Or if you enjoy cycling, then do that. Or, you may find a new partner for jogging in the morning. These are things that will not only make you more fit but will also make your life more enjoyable. Just do it!

#3) Don't sprint on the first day: Yes, this is one of the main key points. Its the reason that most fitness enthusiast go back on their fitness plans. You see, initially when you think of muscle building, bodybuilding or fat loss, you are all charged up with mental images of those model like figures and how people will think of you. So, the first day most of the people put in a lot of extra commitment to run an extra mile. They will stay over an hour in gym. They will be controlling each of their craving. They will be cycling faster than everybody else or swimming even when others have come and gone by. They plan to put up a pound of extra muscle or burn a few hundred calories the first day itself. However, it exhausts them a little too much. The next day their body feels its a tiring activity and their mind resents it. The enthusiasm of being fit or muscular is suppressed by the fatigue, and the workout routine goes into to-do list. The lesson is simple, start slow and gradually build it up. Don't overdo till the time you have started to enjoy it.

#4) Don't try to be brave: Just note down this key point and you will definitely save on some injuries. If you have gone for your workouts or exercises and find yourself ailing over some muscle pain or joints pain, don't ignore it. Most of the people experience some kind of pain when they start exercising. A part of it is natural as your muscles start adjusting but that is a very fine threshold. If the pain seems to go past that threshold then get a checkup. You might have strained some muscle, or you might be suffering from something. To ignore this kind of issue would be foolish and you might be preparing yourself for some bigger injury.

If you are looking for muscle building then the suggestion is simple. Follow only good bodybuilding programs. Don't go for just random workouts or don't just jump over some information available on a bodybuilding web site. Even for a bodybuilding program, the first point is very crucial. You should definitely consult a doctor or physician before beginning any program. Also, buy a bodybuilding program of some repute. Don't just buy on anything fancy.
