It is obvious that this surgery requires certain level of expertise and knowledge, since a wrongly placed implant can lead to a skewed appearance and much discomfort, not to mention intense disappointment. In order that you come out of surgery with breasts that look natural and of the size you want, preferably pick a surgeon who's certified by a board and is part of a medical association



At times you might want to improve the appearance of your breasts without increasing the size. This is usually the case with ?well-endowed? women whose breasts tend to sag as they age or due to pregnancy. This requires a procedure called breast lift which involves tightening the breast tissue to ?uplift? the breast. A breast lift can also be done in a combination with brustvergroesserung. The initial consultation is the most important part of the brustvergr??erung surgery. Based on the information you get during this consultation, you will be able to decide whether you want the surgery in the first place, and if you do then how you can go about achieving the desired results and if you want this surgeon to perform it.

There are a few questions and aspects that you need to essentially discuss with the surgeon. It is in fact, preferable if you visit at least 2-3 surgeons and ask them the same questions. This will help you make a better decision. Remember to discuss:

2. What you cannot expect

3. What kind of implant will be used/ Which one suits your purpose best

4. Your medical history

5. What will happen during the procedure

If your surgeon is a private practitioner, he will usually perform it is his own surgical suite or else in the outpatient department of a hospital or medical centre equipped with required facilities. The entire procedure does not take more than 2-3 hours to complete. It can be performed with either local anesthesia (you're conscious) or general anesthesia.

The variations in the process of brustvergroesserung are due to the place of incision and placement of implant. These again will depend on your frame, the size of the implant, current shape and desired shape and where you want the scar. (All of this will be discussed previously)

With brustvergr??erung post-surgery you're bound to experiences welling, tenderness and discomfort, but that is normal. The implants and surgery cause stretching of tissue and the placement requires the tissue to be separated, and hence the pain. You can ask your surgeon for a painkiller prescription. You might also have to wear a surgical bra for a few days.

You will also not be able to or rather not be allowed to perform any strenuous activity that might put your breasts under pressure. In a week's time, you should be able to resume your job and in a few weeks time your regular routine as well. This surgery does not interfere with breast feeding, although you might want to discuss this point with your surgeon.
