Hair beauty products cover a wide-range of products formulated to help you manage your hair. Whether your hair is long, short, straight, curly; or, if you experience problematic hair, such as excessive oily or dry hair, scalp psoriasis, or have experienced damage from over-styling, heat, or from the environment, hair beauty products can aid healing and treating the follicles while adding fullness, beauty and life.
Shampoos
Shampoos have a general purpose - to clean your hair - pretty obvious. Most of us are attracted and find our favorite shampoo by the way it smells (#1) and how well it allows us to manage our hair (#2).
Many shampoos are formulated to cleanse - but that's where the comparison stops. Most shampoos are formulated with surfactants (cleaning agents) that can be rather harsh on the scalp and hair - often creating more damage than relief. As a result, many manufacturers have done extensive research to uncover organic or natural-based ingredients that not only cleanse, but are gentle on the scalp.
Some ingredients, such as Thyme, Sage and Emu Oil are becoming popular in that they help deep-clean, yet are gentle - and make an excellent shampoo for dry hair. Recently, complexes like Zinc PCA and Jojoba Oil have found there way into the most effective shampoos. They add body, deep clean, and leave hair manageable (#2) without harming the follicle root and shaft.
Conditioners
The primary job of the hair conditioner is to restore hair to its natural elasticity, infuse lost moisture due to styling and product usage, and to maintain cellular hair structure.
Infusing moisture is the main goal here. Often moisture - which is the main component in hair health - is depleted and stripped. If moisture is not regulated through diet, fluid consumption or through topical applications, it is necessary to "infuse" hydration externally. Leave-in or rinse-out conditioners work equally well, while aiding in control and manageability. Many have formulas which include Panthenol that helps heal and soothe the scalp, while others may add agents to give you thicker hair or increased control.
These are a few thoughts to keep in mind when considering hair beauty products. It helps to look at the labels and continue to experiment with different brands (and sub-brands) for products that work the best for your hair type and hair style.
Black Hair Beauty Products
Fact of the day: Whether you have long straight hair or curls, you will need to take care of them if not on a daily basis, at least once a week. Hair care is essential but the question is how do you go about doing it? There are several hair and beauty products available in the market that will not only strengthen your hair from the roots but also clean your scalp and make your hair look healthy. The next question is how do you differentiate between a good and a bad hair product?
Well! There are several ways of determining that and so let's begin:
Type of hair: One of the most important aspects is the type of hair you have. The type of hair product you need to buy will depend mostly on your hair type. Some of the most common type of hair include normal hair, dry hair, oily hair, combination hair and miscellaneous hair types. Asians have straight and thick hair, Caucasians have straight, curly or wavy hair while Africans have tightly curled hair. So first you need to identify which category you are in so that you can buy hair and beauty products for that particular hair category. For example: if you have curly hair then you need to use a moisturizing shampoo with conditioner but if you have straight hair then you need to use a deep cleaning shampoo. So it is extremely important to determine your hair type before you can think about buying hair care products.
Type of product: Most hair and beauty products are available in different price packages and are made from different elements. Some of the hair care products might have high concentration of chemicals while another hair product might have only natural elements or even fruits like lemon, apricot, grapes etc. There are basically two aspects that are inter-connected: price and the product. If a hair product is priced cheap then you need to read its label so that you can identify the various ingredients used. If you find relaxers, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Formaldehyde or formalin, Alcohol or Isopropyl Alcohol, and Collagen in your hair and beauty products then keep away from such a product. These substances can not only cause damage to your hair and scalp but also to your skin, eyes, and other reproductive system. Most people know collagen as a useful element, which is true. But the collagen used in beauty products is extracted from ground chicken feet and animal skins and this can clog your skin pores and cause skin problems. Another element that you need to be wary about is AHA or Alpha-Hydroxy Acids. It is known to be a natural exfoliant and is mostly found in moisturizers but there is a negative side too. The concentration in cheap moisturizers can be so high that it will not only remove dead skin cells but also damage the natural protective layer of the skin.
So the fact of the matter is that you need to choose your hair and beauty products after complete research and from a popular and reputable online store.
