Any kind of embellishment you can add to your scrapbook pages will make them more interesting and beautiful. Using eyelets is a wonderful way to add color and excitement to your layout pages. There are many different designs, colors, sizes and shapes you can choose from.
HOW TO ATTACH EYELETS
It is quite simple to attach eyelets to your scrapbook pages. If you want the hole close to the edge of the paper, you can use a standard hole puncher. If the hole needs to be in a different area, you will need to use an eyelet setter. Once you have inserted the eyelet into the hole, turn the page over and place on a flat surface and use a hammer to flatten the back of the eyelet.
Eyelets can be used to fasten other pieces of material to the page or they can be used as a way to draw attention to a particular spot on the page. Once you have placed your eyelet(s) you will have an opening that you can use to thread ribbon, wire, or tags through the page. (Ribbons can add a colorful and lovely touch.)
WHERE TO FIND EYELETS
Using eyelets is a creative but cheap method to add flair to your scrapbook pages. You can find eyelets at your local craft shop or through online craft stores (do a search for scrapbooking eyelets). Since there are so many different types to choose from, your only challenge will be to make your choices.
NOTE: Since eyelets are so small, it is a good idea to store them in a separate container that has a tight lid. Make sure you keep the container stored with your other craft items. If you do that, you will not be so inclined to lose them.
