Natural acne remedies are proven as an effective strategy to treat acne. Acne is a common skin disorder that occurs in most people. It is manifested in the different parts of the body such as face, neck, shoulder, back and buttocks. Even though many treatments are offered, such as conventional and alternative, natural remedies have the cutting edge in acne treatment.
The popularity of the remedies is now increasing due to people who are becoming more aware of the side effects of the conventional treatments. Natural remedies have no such problem and are assured to be completely safe, as the products used for the treatment are purely natural, which most often does not have any side effects. Another unpleasant leftover of acne are the scars.
The natural remedies are supposed to offer permanent cures for scars, if used continuously for longer period of time. Furthermore they can preventively act against future acne attacks.
Ancient literature also tells us that natural remedies for acne were used in those days - they specify many of such treatments for queens and beauties. The traditional medicine systems such as Chinese traditional medicine, Indian medicinal system-Ayurveda, and Kempo-the Japanese medicinal system, are effective in present circumstances too. Many of the alternative medicine systems such as homeopathy also depend on natural remedies for treatment. The natural treatment utilizes herbs, seeds, flowers, leaves, roots and minerals.
These remedies are commonly used as topical application, but oral remedies are also available. They can be utilized in different preparation such as poultice, powder, and decoction. They're focused to cure the basic underlying cause of the acne. Acne appears because of the infection of bacteria in the clogged follicle - the natural remedies have active ingredients such as anti bacterial cleansers, which help to heal the bacterial infection and open up the skin pores. In addition to the acne treatment, they help to improve the complexion of the skin, since most of the natural remedies for acne are natural bleaching agents also.
Turmeric is one of the common ones. It can be mixed with the milk or curd to apply on the skin. It was a common habit in some Asian countries like India to use turmeric while bathing as the cleansing spirit. Honey is also a proven natural acne remedy. You can put it on the face directly or you can mix it with other remedies such as lemon juice or sandal wood. The vegetables and fruits such as tomato, carrot, cucumber, and orange have also used as packs on the skin. Some recommend streaming and massaging, as part of the remedy treatment. Now, as a result of the increased popularity of the natural remedies, many beauty centers offer them.
Natural acne remedies for acne also suggest lifestyle modifications, such as to follow a recommended diet and regular exercise. The recommended diet must include vitamins and zinc in sufficient qualities so they are proven to be effective in the treatment of acne. To avoid stress and strain of the modern living conditions, mental relaxation techniques are also practiced.
Natural Remedies For Acne
#1. Tea Tree Oil
Essential oil extract from the leaves of the Australian Melaleuca Alternifolia Tree effectively remedies even the worst cases of teen and adult acne. For ages, the knowledgeable have resorted to this tea tree oil because its powerful anti-fungal/anti-bacterial and anti-viral qualities have been absolutely proven to fight breakouts.
Apply the extract to even lesions and it'll work. This tree oil eliminates Propionibacterium, the bacteria that produces acne. A component within the remedy known as Terpinen-4-Ol is the main substance among the extract's antibacterial abilities. (Note: aside from acne, the same tree oil is used for remedying body odor, athlete's foot, cold sores, and bad breath.)
The tea tree oil is a better alternative to applying benzoyl peroxide. In comparison to benzoyl peroxide, using tea tree extract poses lesser side effects. Benzoyl peroxide often has the side effects of itching, burning, and dryness.
If planning to try the tea tree oil for curing your acne, there are products available that contain the ingredients. One of which being the well-known Acnezine.
As it is a potent substance, tea tree oil must be diluted before application. Too much will cause skin irritation, redness, itching, and even blistering. Note also, that tea tree oil isn't suitable for all types of skin.
If you're once of many who has highly sensitive skin, you must be very cautious in applying tea tree oil for your natural acne remedy. For those with sensitive skin, you'll want to begin with a very mild dosage, and only test it on a small section of your face. If your skin becomes irritated, you need to lower the dosage. If yet still the tea tree oil causes aggravation, it's highly recommended that you use another treatment.
Of course, before using any type of remedy, it's recommended that you consult your dermatologist first.
#2. Abnormal Amount of Water Intake
As funny as it may sound to you, water is one of the most powerful natural acne remedies. Not just your normal intake of water, but amounts of water beyond quenching your thirst.
As the most viral nutrient, water comprises of around 60% of your body. Water helps with detoxification of toxins that cause acne to break out within your body. Women should drink approx. 8 to 10 glasses of water per day, while men 12 to 18 glasses. Since water keeps your kidneys and liver functioning correctly (these organs flush waste), this is essential.
If there were one remedy I would suggest for curing acne, it's water. While water will not magically take away the symptoms of your developed acne, it will prevent more acne from arising. Drink no beverages such as juice or soft drinks, even if they may contain water. The more water you drink, the faster your acne will dissipate.
Drink water in the mornings upon awaking. Drink a glass of water for every caffeinated beverage (caffeine dehydrates). Keep a glass or bottle of water nearby no matter where you are, whether work, home, or school. Drink water whenever you exercises.
If you're suffering from acne problems, I recommend you drink at least 3 liters of water per day. One practice you can begin doing is buy 2 liter jugs of water and make sure one and a half are drank each day, then refil; them the following morning and repeat.
