The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is embodied in the football collegiate level by the North Carolina Tar Heels football team. Since its existence for about 120 years, they had won 630 games and they appeared in about 25 bowl games. Jim Thorpe Award is rewarded to the nation's top defensive back yearly. The award was named after sports legend Jim Thorpe from Oklahoma. This award is given annually to the deserving best defensive back who best reveals a good performance on the field, athletic skill and personality.
