A more focal sweating condition affects hands, armpits or the feet and face. Most experience excessive sweating on a more general level where sweating occurs over the whole body.
Hand Sweating medically known as Palmar Hyperhidrosis is the most widespread form of excessive sweating by far. It appears to be genetically related with about half of all patients having a family history of the condition. Those who suffer from Palmar Hyperhidrosis usually start doing so at a very young age most notably in grade school. Sweaty hands affects people more than any other area making it dificult to use a pen, shake hands or even grip a steering wheel.
There are many methods being used to treat cases of profuse sweating including oral medications, lotions and injections of botox just to name a few. Alternative therapies are also very popular as they are inexpensive, non invasive, uncomplicated and do not carry the potential side effects that surgery and medication do.
Sweating stains clothes, is embarrassing and makes social and business meetings uncomfortable and can sometimes affect someones love life. In more severe instances it can also have practical consequences such as the inability to grip a car steering wheel, use a pen or shake someone's hand.
