Suddenly, a Holy Spirit thought came to my mind with these words. "Something good is about to happen." An energy sparked and ignited my mind into the possibilities of what good thing was about to take place. I was no longer feeling rejected and alone. I was anticipating good fortune and the expectancy changed my whole outlook on life.
When I was a mother with young children going through a custody fight with my ex-husband, I would pray that God would just take all of my feelings away. During that time of my life I experienced losing the love, respect, and support of everyone I had ever known.
It was easy to feel depressed, because of all the loss I suffered. It was easy to want to throw the whole world away and run anywhere, but here. Instead, God gave me the strength to stand my ground and fight back. I refused to allow people's prejudice to prevent me from being a mother to my children. I wouldn't allow myself the luxury of being depressed.
This is the way it is in every one's life, we will face suffering from death, divorce, sickness and tragedies of all kinds. From these experiences we must grow! We must let go of the bad things we are experiencing and trust that God has a plan for our lives.
1 Thessalonians 3: 3&4, "so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them. In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know."
Following God in a wicked and deprived world means we must embrace each trial we face with determination. We cannot give into our feelings of hopelessness or we will lose our ability to survive. Understanding the principles of the game of life produces in us the hope we need to keep going forward no matter what happens.
Making our minds focus on good things, instead of bad things, helps us to let go of fear and fight! Hope helps us to survive the death of a loved one. Hope makes us believe that something good is about to happen!
1Thessalonians 4: 13&14, "Our brothers, we want you to know the truth about those who have died, so that you will not be sad, as are those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will take back with Jesus those who have died believing in him."
We must never give up and allow Satan to persuade us to feel rejected and abandoned because we are all alone. We must place our faith in God and conquer fear by going forward no matter what happens to us in life. We must read our bible and pray at all times giving praise with a thankful heart, even when something bad is happening.
If we face an illness and our prayers are not answered for that sickness, we must place this weakness in God's hands. Make your mind focus on the goodness and protection of God. This way you will endure a trial of sickness without allowing Satan the satisfaction that he has made you feel completely hopeless and depressed.
Remember when we are in a life game, Satan will attack our emotions, our physical bodies, and the circumstances surrounding our life. We are here to defeat Satan through patiently enduring trials with hope and faith that God will see us through.
Praising God during this time of trial will make you feel revitalized even when your body is weak! Resist the devil and he will flee! The Holy Spirit will embrace your pain stricken body and give you the strength to patiently endure.
2 Corinthians 12: 7-10, "But to keep me from being puffed up with pride because of the many wonderful things I saw, I was given a painful physical ailment, which acts as Satan's messenger to beat me and to keep me from being proud. Three times I prayed to the Lord about this and asked him to take it away. But his answer was: 'My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.' I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ's power over me. I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Death, disease, and illnesses of all kinds normally come to people in a world that is a teaching world. We mustn't allow Satan to make us say "why God why". We must accept the trial we have been given and depend on God to see us through and He will do it!
When a Christian goes through an illness, they become examples to unbelievers of how God can give you the strength to endure. Their belief and trust in God is noted by patients, doctors, nurses, and visitors to the hospital, of how you can have hope and joy through a difficult disease.
1 Peter 4:1&2, "Since Christ suffered physically, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had; because whoever suffers physically is no longer involved with sin. From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God's will and not by human desires."
Many theologians state that a sickness is a punishment from God for sin, but Peter proclaims a secret truth. Illnesses can be a result of God wanting to teach a person something new. It has nothing to do with sin, it has everything to do with a person's destiny.
Everything we go through has a spiritual purpose that is meant for our growth. This concept is hard to imagine when we are going through the trial, but after the period of illness has run its course, we can look back and see what we learned.
The words "Something Good Is About To Happen" burst into my thoughts giving me a whole new way to look at the circumstances surrounding my newest trial. It helped me to focus on God and His purpose for my life. It helped me to stop giving into negative thinking and it allowed love to once again flow.
We are in a life game of good versus evil. With this is mind anything that makes us feel sorry for ourselves is not God, it is Satan. Satan wants to keep us from being strong Christian examples to unbelievers. Satan wants to stop us from defeating the evil things that normally come to people and to make us place blame on God. Satan's goal is to make all Christians everywhere stop loving and to give up and die!
God wants us to stay positive and to stand our ground, while we face trials of all kinds. We are to reflect love, hope, patience, and most of all we are to Praise God, who found us worthy to suffer pain. When we praise God we defeat Satan's evil plan and we feel better!
Philippians 4:8&9, "In conclusion, my brothers, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable. Put into practice what you have learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you."
Something good is about to happen in your life. Think positive and you will win your game of life for God. God's peace that surpasses all understanding will fill your being and give you hope.
