Divine guidance can come in the disguise of an angelic message, in the whisper of a good friend, in the words of a song that move you to tears, in the words of a book, in an advertisement, in a movie, and in your dreams. We all have thirty three guides available to us at any given time. They are our guardian angels, the archangels, ascended masters, spirit guides, joy guides, teacher guides, health guides just to name a few. These guides will bring us messages to help us along our path.

The best guide of all, however, is our own Divine guide ...our higher self. Our higher self is always watching out for us, she is always there for us, always guiding us to our highest path. The question is are we paying attention to this guidance; do we even know how?

While our other guides are messengers, our higher self, on the other hand, is our highest, most authentic expression of who we are. Our higher self wants nothing more than to be given permission to help us see more clearly, to express ourselves BOLDLY and more in accordance with our highest, most heart centered and loving nature. If we would allow her to do so, our higher self can create profound outcomes "through" us. Our lives become nothing short of magical and our ego no longer has a negative impact on our lives - instead, it works harmoniously with our higher self to manifest our dreams, to help us learn our lessons and evolve so that we can live more authentic and beautiful lives.

In order to experience your higher self more fully you must be willing to surrender your power to her. Let go of the need to be in control. Your freedom from fear, anxiety and worry will be worth every effort. The ego may resist this and even so, still surrender your power completely and release any need to have assurances in the outcome. Have faith in the eternal love and wisdom that is your higher self. You will feel more whole and much happier for it.

The best way to connect with your higher self and hear her guidance is to meditate for 10-15 minutes each day. If you do this at the same time each day your higher self will show up and be there without your needing to ask. At first your ego mind will try to fill your meditation time with 'mind chatter'. When this happens just allow the thoughts to come and go without having any attachment to them. Sometimes it is helpful to see them as train just passing by. Eventually your ego will cease to resist your attempts to contact your higher self and what starts out as quiet whispers that you hear in the beginning will become very loud and bold messages.

Another worthwhile exercise is to invoke your higher self, before you get out of bed, to think, speak, feel, and act through you for the entire day. Surrender the day to her and then thank her at the end of the day for her profound and magical guidance.
