Television acting is a job like any other, and it has its ups and downs. Recent candid talks with April Matson, Matt Dallas and Jaimie Alexander revealed the challenges and quirky troubles they go through while trying to get their work done. All three of them co-star as cast members in the ABC Family network’s science fiction teen drama, Kyle XY. They recounted their unpleasant and uncomfortable experiences on the series, which recently aired its midseason finale the previous week. Both Alexander and Matson had a difficult time on the set due to problems with the wardrobe department, while Dallas had to deal off the set with unusual behavior from hardcore female fans of the show.
April Matson portrays Lori Trager on Kyle XY, and she recalled the problems she had during filming for the seventh episode “Free to be You and Me." Calling the mishap traumatic and highly stressful, she says that it stemmed from the fact that she had to wear a backless shirt for a scene set during a dance. Matson stated that it didn’t occur to her there might be an issue with her bra, so she was wearing special stick-on gel. She says that as she was working together with 50 extras, she was sweating the entire time, and what she was wearing kept sliding down.
On the other hand, Jaimie Alexander had to navigate around the problem of so-called modesty patches. Her character Jessi XX had to appear as if she were nude during a scene in one episode, and Alexander soon learned that the patches weren’t very reliable and didn’t stay in place where they were supposed to. They also didn’t do much for her in the freezing, uncomfortably cold weather they were shooting in. On the other hand, show star Dallas has had a female fan lick him in the ear, and another caress his bellybutton.
