There are electric models for your lawn mower as well as the standard push mowers that everybody has seen. With powerful batteries, such designs can last for half an acre before it runs out of power and needs to be re-energized. Such models that run on electricity can be relatively silent and green as they do not release poisonous fumes. They don't have the power of the gasoline ones, however, and can get stuck in thicker areas.
There are designs that have reel blades and cut at the front of the mowers, suitable for those in the profession of maintaining lawns. The rotary type is good if there isn't a golf link to mow. The blades for cutting are located beneath the base of the seat and will cause some form of vibration. With a well-cushioned seat, it will not trouble you.
There are, of course, more compact riding mowers that are suitable for your lawn as well. The fundamental workings are similar to the larger ones. The capacity and the size of the machine will be the main difference. It is tempting to buy a machine with a large capacity, but horsepower isn't actually that important if the mower is designed well.
You do not really need much horsepower if your yard is flat and even. If you have a very hilly area, however, you will need a lot more. If your lawn is undulating, a lawn tractor is a good option.
A lawn tractor will have 10-15 horsepower and can work well. Considering that a car has 150 ' 300 horsepower, it seems that it's a lot less energy, but you don't need that much. It is the same with a car, the higher the power, the more expensive. Make sure you really need it first.
It will be more expensive if you have a machine that can mow larger plots of land. Lawn tractor blades usually cut between 38 ' 42 inches and can cut the lawn quicker. However, it will be faster cutting your lawn, about 10% faster and with greater precision.
The models range between a basic garden tractor with 20 horsepower to a powerful mower that has a 60' blades. This will be put to good use should you need to move parts of a tree or move dirt around with an attached trailer.
You should also pay attention to the turning radius of the model that caught your eye. It will be more expensive if you have a small degree turning radius. If you don't have a lawn that is difficult to negotiate, you probably won't need it.
