Scientists have termed the phrase "brain entrainment" to reflect what actually occurs when you listen to binaural beats. Simply by listening to this unique sounds you can enter a variety of mental, emotional and physical states very quickly!
By listening to the correctly chosen binaural beats recording through stereo headphones you can experience a variety of states from relaxation to improved concentration and increased energy.
Some of the benefits you can receive from binaural beats include:
- Less stress.
- Improved emotional, mental & physical health.
- Improved concentration.
- Better memory.
- More creativity.
- Reduced learning times.
- Increased retention of learned knowledge.
- Deeper and more revitalizing sleep.
- Faster healing.
So What are Binaural Beats?
Binaural Beats are an auditory phenomenon that occurs when two tones, that are similar but slightly different in frequency, are sent to each ear independently. One ear hears the first tone while the other ear hears the second tone. A strange thing then happens in the brain. Due to the close similarity of the 2 tones the brain actually merges them to form just one sound. However, because the tones are not identical and differ slightly in frequency the brain creates a beat (binaural beats) that has a frequency that is the difference between the two tones. The beat does not actually exit and is a type of mental illusion.
These binaural beats have the effect of forcing the brain to create brainwaves that are the same frequency as the beats. Thus by using binaural beats that are at a certain frequency you can create brainwaves at the same frequency.
Science has known for some time the exact brainwave frequencies that are associated with most physical, mental and emotional states (including hypnotic, meditational etc.). Thus by using binaural beats you can now easily create these states just by listing to a recording in stereo!
The most common mental brainwave states are beta, alpha, theta and delta. These brainwave states have very specific frequencies and all correspond to specific mental, emotional and physical states. For instance when you are wide awake and alert you are in the beta state. When you are relaxed and open to new learning you are in the alpha state. Theta occurs in dream sleep while delta brainwaves are apparent in deep restful sleep.
In only eight minutes you can experience any of the above states and a multitude of others by simply listening to a binaural beats recording!
