There is so much bad information available pretending to show people 'how to get rid of love handles' that I thought it was time to put the record straight. People with good intentions are wasting their time and effort doing the wrong thing. There are no easy fixes but there are ways to target your efforts so you get the quickest results.
Focusing on the area that you have the most fat doesn't help
Trying to exercise just one particular area doesn't work. Its far better to get an overall fitness program that will give you all round results and a great body too. You have to get your entire body into shape before you start seeing results.
You need a 'complete body' solution
The cold hard fact is that you need to get your whole body in shape before you are able to shift that stubborn fat that clings on to your waist for all its worth.
There are no 'easy solutions'
It's part of our modern world that we now expect 'instant results' - we stand in front of the microwave and complain that it takes a whole THREE minutes to cook a meal!
The fact is that it will take time and sustained commitment to get rid of your love handles. Not a great amount of time, but months and in some cases even weeks.
How long did it take you to build them in the first place?
If you take the time to think it's likely you will realize that it's taken YEARS of bad habits to build your love handles. I promise that if you take ongoing action (little and often) it will be a lot quicker than that to lose them!
Having a Large Waist Can Be a Killer
Regardless of all other factors, including BMI (body mass index, which relates height to weight), a recent study showed that people with larger waists and greater waist-to-hip ratios had higher death rates from all causes, including heart disease and cancer, which are the top two killers in the U.S.
And not just a small amount, women with a waist larger than 34.6 inches were THREE times more likely to die of heart disease, compared to women with smaller waists.
Little and Often is the key
So by now you're wondering what the solution is. Actually it's quite simple, all you need to do is some specific exercises and cut down on the amount of poor quality food you eat.
The solution is actually quick simple. That doesn't mean it's easy though! You just need to start a simple to follow exercise routine that will steadily improve your body condition. Together with small improvements to your diet and you'll soon be looking good and feeling great!
