One of my best forms of guidance in life has been heroes!
Who are your heroes? Many heroes in our lives are often overlooked, but are among us, all-around us, some are obvious and some are not! Unknown to many of us are heroes who risk their lives just to safeguard ours like the fireman or policeman in our own cities and towns. The unsung hero who protects us from countries far away! Heroes are everywhere!
Since I have been around for almost 2 decades now I have had many heroes that I've followed, researched and tried to live by their standards they have set! So I will list them in order of most importance to me!
My #1 Hero is Yeshua (Hebrew for "Jesus") The promised Messiah of Israel (Hebrew for "Christ") of the Old & New Testament! The Lord of the universe! Jesus Christ has made quite an impact on the world and his words, deeds and miracles have never been matched!
He Died in Our Place - "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
He Rose From the Dead - "Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures...He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred..." (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).
He Is the Only Way to God - "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me'" (John 14:6).
My #2 Hero is My wife - She often annoys me, but she took my name when we married, she's not much for keeping our home clean and in order, but she's my hero!
During my time in the military I met a lovely work of art in a dance club no less, A true gift from "GOD" dressed in a hot silky pink hot paints outfit - Dressed to kill along with a darling friend that would make any male just through hoops, as I sat looking at these 2 stunning beauties from a far trying to decide which one would become my nights desert I pulled out a trusty quarter and gave one heads and the other tails! Do to my indecision I flipped the coin and my choice was made.
As we danced thought the night me in my white angel flights suit and she in her stunning silky pink hot paints outfit magic was being made and soon we eventually married!
She has dutifully served me through the good, bad and ugly! She nurtured me! She rescued me more time than I can count! She taught me! She healed me!
She has done difficult work with one of the neediest soul's such as mine and her day after day dedication to me without fanfare is my top unsung hero!
I consider myself lucky that god gave me one to live with!
My #3 Hero is Martin Luther King Jr. - He has now been dead longer than he lived. But what an extraordinary life it was. At 33, he was pressing the case of civil rights with President John Kennedy. At 34, he galvanized the nation with his "I Have a Dream" speech. At 35, he won the Nobel Peace Prize. At 39, he was assassinated, but he left a legacy of hope and inspiration that continues today.
So what is all this rambling about? It's about freedom my friend! The freedom that becoming a freelancer is all about! The freedom to make your own hours! The freedom to work for the best boss in the world "YOU"! The freedom to make your own income and best of all the freedom of financial independence!
