I just can tell you that the majority of the newsletter that I received is plainly sales pitch with an interesting story.
It's just the way the internet marketing works, people send out email promotion and a hour later, thousands of dollars came through their merchant account.
Sometimes you can't even stop your self from not taking out your credit cards, because the sales copy is so compelling.
I do agree with email promotion and that it could help many internet marketers make money. But the fact is that there is a better way of doing things.
When I receive email offers, it's usually the high profile internet marketers starts off by telling me a story, about how much they could make by using some top notch secret that no one else is using.
After that, there goes a link for you to purchase your product. I totally agree with that, it's how email promotion works.
But there is another method that you can make money and build a relationship between you and your customer.
Remember the phrase Give Before You Receive.
I recommend that you give out some good valuable information out first before you ask your prospects to take action. Give out something that can truly improve their business, even a tip, a strategy or advice could truly help them.
It can also be something that helps them solve a problem or helps them better in growing their business.
One of the top marketers I really like is Dan Kennedy. He truly gives out good valuable information, not just sales pitch that you can find almost in every newsletter. Over 70% of his newsletter is something valuable that he gives out.
Another newsletter is ETR, early to rise. This letter is balanced, there is sales promotion and the same time, there is valuable information.
These are all good examples of good newsletters.
Another thing I want to mention about is that the key point of a business is relationships. And I think that the word relationship applies to your daily life. Your spouse, your family and friends, it's all around you.
Many marketers said that The Money Is In The List, even the top marketing guru Corey Rudl are serious about his list, if his staff leaks one of his prospects to someone else, they are getting a heavy fine of $20 million.
The Money Is In The List is just part of the answer, the real deal is how you build a relationship with your list and turning them into a life time customer. That's the most important part of the game.
So if you want to build a highly responsive list, start building a close relationship with your subscriber, starting from today.
