If you are considering starting your own home business then let me tell you, finding a good legitimate program that really pays you is harder to find than most people think. Because the online world is full of scams, even if you filter through all the programs you see on the web, eventually you get so much confused that you end up going in a vicious circle with no way out.

Falling for the lure of 'get-rich-quick' schemes and other scams is easy and most of us fall into the trap one time or the other. Because it is difficult to guess whose offer is legitimate and whose is illegitimate. There is no face to face conversation between two parties and it makes things all the more difficult. You can see that the most commonly asked question is- "Can you tell me of a legitimate business opportunity where I can make money?'

Fortunately there IS an answer to this question. To get the answer to this simple question, you need to keep these simple points in your mind whenever you are offered a money making business opportunity, so that you can determine whether the business opportunity is really legitimate or not.

1. Do a little research. Ask yourself: How long has this business been around? Most 'get-rich' quick' programs don't survive more than a few months, or at most, a year. Do you personally know anybody who works for that company? Ask him what he thinks about the company and how is he paid. Also see if the company has a good support team-whether a human answers your questions, or are the answers generated by a robot. Before falling for any business opportunity, find out what their aim is and what they are all about

2. Does the company's product have any potential of solving people's problems? Does it offer solutions to its clients? The questions are simple enough but often ignored by most people. How will potential clients be benefited from the company's products/services? A legitimate business opportunity will offer solutions and services that will help solve the problems of their clients.

3. What type of marketing/promo materials does the business offer to its affiliates? In order to sell any product or solution, you need not only traffic but targeted traffic (i.e., people who are actually interested in your products). A legitimate business opportunity would offer various promotional materials to its affiliates in order to help them get targeted traffic to their websites. These promotional materials can be in the form of banners, text ads, classified ads, endorsement emails, image ads, pay-per click ads, articles, newsletters, free reports, etc.

4. What is the price of the products/services the company has to offer? Will people really buy their products at the suggested prices, and more importantly, will you make a decent income by promoting the company's products? If the price of the product is too low, then it would be hard for you to make profits. What other competitors are charging for the same type of product? Do a google search to see if the company's products are worth promoting.

5. What is the cost for you? What would be your ROI (return-on-investment)? What is the quality of the products offered by the company? Do they offer good customer service? How will you market their products? Will the cost that you spend on advertising their products be really worth the income you would be making from the company? If you have answered all these questions, then you would be able to decide if it is worth promoting the company's products. If you are spending loads of cash in promoting the products with no profits, then you are only losing money.

So now you know that if you do proper research, it is possible to find legitimate business opportunities. Answer the questions above, and decide if the opportunity is really worth all the hype. Don't cut any corners and analyze everything carefully. When you think you have found a legitimate business opportunity then it is time to take that first step towards making money!
