Bike Your Way To Fitness
An exercise bike is one of the best exercise equipments that could give the user a cardiovascular work out. This is in such a way structured like a bike but is stationary. The purpose is only for exercise and not for transportation of course. The exercise bike can also be used by professional bikers for training purposes. For various reasons, the biker may be unable to train outside.
Exercise bikes bring out the fun in working out while in the comfort of your home. You can practically burn those unwanted fat and calories while watching television, sound tripping or even reading a book without worrying about incoming traffic or keeping your balance with your hands. Unlike older models, the new versions of these exercise bikes are quieter with a recumbent or an upright seat and add-ons like a heart beat or pulse monitor, programmed workouts and even magazine racks and drink holders.
Entry level exercise bikes will only come with the basics of the standard stationary bike nothing more, nothing less.
Mid level exercise bikes will have improved features such as the pulse monitor, a more silent sounding bike, workout programs and a magnetic resistance control. Some may also have features of adjustability for the seat and the handle bars.
High end exercise bikes will have a number of programmed workouts, push button controls, high end led display monitors, adjustable seat and handlebars and of course a longer warranty period.
Since an exercise bike will be used for a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes, the factor of comfort should be considered as a priority. A high price does not really mean that the device will be a hundred percent comfortable. Adjustable seats and handlebars should be considered when buying one.
There are two types of seats for the exercise bikes available in the market and there has been a sort of debate for which chair is the best. The seats can either be in the recumbent or the upright position. The recumbent seat is in a reclined position which is good for the back because you pedal in such a way that the inclined seat brings the feet in front of you in a less straining way. The upright position on the other hand is the more traditional seat that you see with the normal bikes.
It does not follow in some cases that if you buy an expensive exercise bike it will answer the issues on comfort. Choose a bike well to have your money's worth.
