You see, I just love a good product (I guess I love a good sales pitch too). I like to know what's out there so I can stay in the loop on Internet marketing-don't you? I hate to be the last to know something.

It's like being the last to get an obvious funny joke or the last to get picked from a bunch of losers for a softball team. I just don't want to be the last person to learn, or get anything.

Well, just a few days later, I get another email from the same "guru", but it's for a different product-one that is not even his! You see when you buy anything from one "guru", you're automatically put into rotation into every joint venture that "guru" has ever done or ever will do.

I kind of liken it to the drunken girl that gets passed around at a fraternity keg party. Bad example I know, but you get the point.

I have not even received the original product I ordered and yet I'm being pitched on a totally different product all within the same week. I know technology changes pretty quick, but within the space of three to four days?

I guess I'm already behind and back to being last again or I'm on that sucker list!

Here is my point. Technology and information does change quite frequently in this industry. What works today, may not be as effective a year from now, a few months from now or even a week from now. That's why it's important to stay on top of the latest marketing strategies, techniques and trends.

Key number one: If you want to make your website profitable, you have to be in the "know" and stay informed on what's going on in the Internet world. You don't want to be last to know anything; you don't want to be outdated before you get a chance to start!

Key number two: You can't be the lone wolf and try to become successful without any help. You have to network with like-minded people. Just like the "guru" in the example that I gave, you can do joint ventures forever and never have to worry about creating another product.

Brainstorm marketing techniques, sales copy strategies, resources, traffic tips and so on with other people like yourself. You help them and in return they help you.

What better way to test various strategies and get it done faster than to have a bunch of experienced internet marketers helping you. You get the results you want faster so you grow your business at an exponential rate.

If you want to make money online and thus work from home, you have start with the basics. Learn Internet marketing and learn how to get traffic to your site. Sounds simple enough, but most people don't bother learning either.

In a nutshell, you must stay updated on what's current by becoming a member of an internet marketing forum or club or by subscribing to an internet marketing magazine or newsletter.

It's a great idea to network with Internet experts or those who are more Internet savvy than you are. This is how business partnerships start and real learning begins. If you heed to this advice, not only will you not be last, you will be ahead of the competition.
