The Fear Of Blushing Too Much And The Fear Of Being Overweight
Gary Ambrosh
Anorexics are obsessed about being obese. When anorexics see the reflection of their bodies in the mirror, they imagine themselves as 'overweight'. The majority of folks are astonished by this. Individuals who've never undergone similar body image issues simply cannot understand how someone who doesn't have any fat on their body can still see an overweight person in the mirror.
Individuals who have Anorexia are obsessed about being overweight. They waste all their waking hours desperately dejected with their body, and think about it all the time. They simply can't see themselves like other folks see them. They consider themselves as obese as that is exactly how they see themselves.
You may be wondering what blushing in excess and Anorexia have in common. There are as a matter of fact quite a number of similarities. I was telling my girlfriend about my previous blushing problems. I told her how it was extremely unnerving and how I felt totally out of control. The blushing was controlling my entire life. She asked me how long was it prior to our going out together that I had recovered! If you've heard my audio book, called Blushing Free, you will know that the beginning of my relationship with my girlfriend was when I had some of my nastiest blushing incidents ever. Every time I saw her, I could feel my cheeks turn red and get hot. The more I could feel it, the more I blushed with mortification. It was a vicious circle. I could as a matter of fact feel myself perspiring at times.
I told her this and she frowned at me, not understanding and looked totally puzzled. I had expected her to nod and say something like, "Yeah, I wondered about what was happening then," but her response was completely bewildering.
Some days thereafter, it all suddenly became slightly clear. I did something so mortifying that even individuals who don't normally blush much would have gone red in the face. I told my girlfriend to see how red in the face I was going and I looked in the mirror to confirm my feelings. She said that I was merely a little pink and told me not to make a mountain of a mole-hill! In my mirror image, I could see my face had turned completely red. But, she could see a person who was merely a little pink, not much different from any other person. Then, I understood why she had never commented on my excessive blushing in the past. So, I found out the similarities between individuals who are obsessed about being obese and blushers. Just as Anorexics imagine they are 'obese', we blushers, as well, all the time expect the worst.
Individuals who blush very much, are horror-struck at the idea of blushing. These emotions misrepresent their self-worth and they see their blushing as far nasty than it as a matter of fact is and how it appears to other folks, in reality. It is just as meaningless, trying to convince anorexics that they are bony, as it is telling a an individual who blushes chronically that it is particularly in their mind and their turning red isn't as awful as they presume it to be.
Constantly try to remember that your turning red in the face comes across as much more horrible to you than it actually is. Your blushing might not affect individuals who are around you and other folks may not even notice it. If you can keep that in mind, you will be that much closer to ridding yourself of your excessive blushing problem forever.
