Writing articles is the best way to promote any website. It works very simply, publishers was great, FREE, quality articles and content for their website (after all, no one wants to look at a blank website, do they?) You have content for this website, you write an article, you add your link to the article, the link that directs people back to your site, and submit it to the publisher. You get increased traffic to your site, and free promotion material, and the publishers gets readers to his or her website that want to read the article. Magic!

There are a few tips you may want to bear in mind before you submit your article to anyone and they are, as follows:

1. CHECK YOUR WORK! Nobody wants to read an article that's full of spelling mistakes, it looks as if an amateur has written it and your publisher will not want to put your article, and thus, the link back to your website, on theirs. Print the article out and read it, checking for sentences that don't make sense, spelling and grammar mistakes. You could also check for keyword density with a few websites online, and check it through Copyscape to make sure no-one has already written your work and submitted it on the internet!

2. SUBMIT TO RELEVANT DIRECTORIES! Make sure your work, after being checked, is submitted to places where you will get the most traffic. Obviously if your article is written about computers and you submit it to a website or directory about pets, you're not going to get the optimized amount of visitors! Make sure you submit your article to places where the people that want to know about your business or product will find it. You should also ensure that the article is placed under the right category. If the directory is for articles of many different topics, there's again, no point in submitting an a article about computers in the cars section!

3. CHECK GUIDELINES! Some websites and directories have specific guidelines that they wish for you to follow when submitting your work to them. Some strip HTML links out of the article, meaning that you will not be able to provide a link back to your site. 4. THINK ABOUT ARTICLE SUBMISSION SOFTWARE! This allows you to submit your article to many different directories all at one time. Some you will be expected to pay for and some will be free. It's just a case of looking around the internet and finding one that you like the look of.

The last piece of advice I will give you is to use a bit of common sense.
