If your child is sick or for some reason unable to participate in the outdoor activities you might have to make some extra effort to make it a successful Halloween night at home. They will appreciate it very much.
To begin with maybe you guys can turn your house into a ?spook? house by getting lots of candles, cobwebs and lots of creepy littleartifacts to place all around the house. Make sure you have some scary music.
Even if you are staying at home a costume is a must. How can you get in the spirit if you are not dressed up? To surprise your child maybe you can talk to other parents about having a small get together for the kids before the others go out. If this is not possible try and arrange for some friends to come ?trick or treating? at your door.
Make sure you take pictures when a friend comes knocking. Also make sure you have plenty of treats in the house, your child needs some too. A scary movie along with some scary stories makes for a very special time for the whole family.
When it comes to eating treats do not be to strict about it and in regardsto bed time why not pretend you are out camping? If you have a fire placeread some scary stories in front of it and let him/her fall asleep right there.
If you have no fire place do not worry, just put a bunch of candles togetherand pretend. It can be just as cozy as a campfire. (Be very careful if you are using candles. Do not knock them over or fall asleep.)
As you can see staying at home does not have to be a disaster. It can be turned into something real enjoyable.
