Self hypnosis has finally been recognised as not being a stage show gimmick, the use of self hypnosis can condition the mind to help overcome everyday problems and habits permanently, and with no side effects (i.e. the much joked about clucking like a chicken or barking like a dog, self hypnosis will leave you feeling relaxed and confident). Sport in particular can benefit from this excellent form of therapy. If someone was to say to a golfer that just by listening to a cd as you settle down to sleep at night, their game will improve markedly, they would probably get laughed at, recent research has shown that hypnotherapy can be used safely and highly effectively to improve many different habits and circumstances. I became interested in self hypnosis due to a need to control pain without resorting to a continued course of painkillers, I did not realise at the time that it could be used to change so many aspects of my life for the better, for any of you who have not tried it and are contemplating changing some aspect of your life, I can highly recommend it.
