Christmas crafts are a blast for kids. Santa craft ideas for kids are an enjoyable and creative way of spending time with your kids during the Christmas holidays. Let me share a few Christmas craft-decorating free ideas.
SANTA PICTURE:
If you are looking for Christmas crafts and recipes geared for preschoolers, this picture-making activity is a good place to start. So, let's begin creating Santa's pictures from scratch. There are many different kinds of coloring books with Santa themes sold during Christmas. Get Santa's picture from one of those books. Cut it out, and place Santa's picture in the center of a sheet of thick, white construction paper. A glue stick will do fine to fasten it to the paper.
Color the picture with crayons. Once the picture is finished, place cotton balls to cover Santa's beard, and one at the end of his hat. You can even glue black buttons for Santa's eyes, and a red button for his nose. Decorate the blank area of the white construction paper by drawing candy canes or trees.
After you are done, have your kids print their names right under Santa. Glue their art work to a piece of heavy cardboard. Put the picture in a frame to protect it. Then you can show off your child's art work in your home..
SANTA CHRISTMAS CARDS:
Santa Christmas cards are perfect for your kids this time of year. Cut a piece of white card stock to 5" x 7". You can either fold it vertically or horizontally. Tell your kids to create their own version of Santa on the front page. If they need help, you might have some picturs of Santa for them to copy. Let them use crayons or colored markers to help stimulate their imagination.
After making the pictures, it's time for your kids to write Christmas messages on the inside page. Christmas cards made this way are delightful to show off at home or send to loved ones. You can also do a Christmas craft-a-day activity and add this to your Christmas calendar. Whether you teach a class or do this at home, it's an enjoyable thing to do with your kids or students.
MAKE A SANTA PLATE ORNAMENT FOR THE CHRISTMAS TREE:
To make a Santa plate, gather crayons and markers, cotton balls, a large paper plate, and color sparkles. On the paper plate, trace or draw Santa, without his red hat. Glue the cotton balls on his beard. As a way of being creative, glue the cotton balls together into a V-shape so that Santa's beard hangs off the plate. Another place to use cotton balls is on Santa's hair
Use a blue marker to color in Santa's eyes, and a black marker to draw Santa's glasses. Use red food color on a cotton ball to make Santa's nose. You can color the rim of the plate with red or green and add color sparkles to it. Finally, place the Santa plate on the tree by inserting an ornament hook at the top of the plate.
As you can see, there are so many different ways to involve your kids in creating, making, and decorating Santa Christmas ornaments, pictures, and cards.
